WILDWOOD -- A Sunrise woman spent the night trapped in her upside-down car in a Central Florida canal and breathing from an air pocket before the vehicle was noticed by a passing tow truck driver and she was rescued.

When rescuers arrived, Davis heard them and yelled out, troopers said. They said she had spent the night -- more than 13 hours -- with much of her body submerged in the flooded, overturned car , but was able to breath from an air pocket that formed between the upside-down seats. The air pocket was said to be 6 to 8 inches deep and over the passenger seat. She told rescuers she tried to get out of the car severaltimes, but could not escape from the vehicle.

On one hand, it must have been terribly frightening for her. On the other, she has a great story to tell the grandkids. Good for her.
