Which historical figure has received the most undeserved good rap?
Who is remembered positively when they don't deserve to be.

I couldn't think of enough examples for a decent sized poll so Ill throw it in for open discussion....

Obviously theres Ronald Reagan...

and some that could go either way, Che and Fidel...or Oliver Cromwell

1. Like you mentioned, Reagan immediately came to mind.
If I ahve to think of someone besides him...Andrew Jackson? Genocidal Indian fighter and he actually gets to be on the $20. :wtf:

4. There are defiantly Grey areas
Castro and Guevara could both be in this thread and the 'bad rap' one.

Cromwell was another...I was sure he was remembered badly but then he made it to number 10 on a BBC poll of 100 greatest Brits.

3. I would have to say Lincoln
Not that he doesn't deserve any praise, but too many people think the Emancipation Proclamation freed the slaves. He gets credit for the wrong thing when people talk about the EP doing what was actually accomplished by the 13th Amendment.
