Anybody know anything about The Dove Foundation?
I got a call today from them. They are looking for parents to help clean up TV. I told the guy that the first amendment is a wonderful thing and hung up on him.

I looked them up and found this:

and this:

1. LMAO...
Look what they recommended instead of "Hendrix", the Jimi Hendrix documentary:
http://www.dove.org/reviews/MovieReview.asp?Sort=Date&Direction=Down&Keyword=Network&SearchType=Source&Position=11&Unique_ID=3075

"Alternative Suggestion: Lord of the Dance
(12+) Michael Flatley of “Riverdance” fame created this musical dance expression. Although not as uplifting as “Riverdance,” it is very entertaining."

"Content Description:
Language: Christ 6, F-word 30, S-word 11, BS 1, ass 3, bastard 1, bitch 1, expletives 3, crudities 1 – Sex: three orgies with lesbianism and nudity; a woman follows the lead into a public restroom, gives him drugs and they begin to have sex when the scene ends; two women discuss making a mold of Jimi’s penis; Jimi is seen in bed, smoking a joint with a scantily clad woman he has presumably just had sex with – Drugs: the lead smokes throughout, drinks excessively and consumes any number of illegal narcotics; two musicians set guitars on fire while performing on stage – the lead embraces all religions; militant Black Panthers put down whites"

2. These people need help
I bookmarked he page with all of the idiots behind this. I do believe I've got some letters and e-mails to write. Funny, they want to boycott Disney, but I put in several Disney movie names, and it said they were all suitable for everyone.

3. OK, this is funny
I put in Flubber. They have an edited version that makes it wonderful for everyone. WTF needs to be edited out of Flubber, you ask? Well, this is what they say:

1 crude sight gag; a couple scenes may frighten very little ones due to a fast paced out of control rubber substance flying through neighborhood homes, and a bowling ball falling on the comic villain’s head; the professor puts the flubber on the shoes of the losing basketball team - excuse me, but isn’t that cheating? - Oh well, so long as you get a laugh, right? Disney does the same in several underdog movies such as "Angeles In The Outfield", there we see Angeles helping an incompetent team beat real athletes. Yes, it’s only a movie, but there’s enough people in this world - including many high paid athletes - teaching kids that sportsmanship really means win at all costs. Shouldn’t movie makers be responsible for the lessons they teach little ones? Excuse me, what was I thinking?

It's a fucking comedy, are they really concerned that kids are going to help sports teams cheat by using Flubber????

10. Hey! I was terrified by...
coyotes falling off cliffs and making huge holes in the ground.

To this day, every time I see a roadrunner, I fall on my face.

(Good thing I live in the Northeast and don't see many raodrunners)

6. Need for Speed Underground 2....
Dove Worldview:
Although this game may have some rap and heavy rock songs, any and all of the foul words are edited out. Also with the illegal element of racing on city streets with top speeds of 200 range mph. there may be some religious objections. But other than that this game is perfectly harmless and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

There may be religious objections to racing at over 200 mph? WHAT??

9. Gran Turismo though...
Dove Worldview:
Rated E for everyone, this game should be suitable for all ages. Accidents are not dramatized and the real focus of the game is to give car fans a chance to come as close as possible to driving the real thing.

...

There is a mind-numbing amount of detail in this game and for car fans this is their candy shop. The average game fan will enjoy the graphics and sound along with strong game play feel. It will take time to move up through the tournaments and make the money to race the more extreme cars. Basic driving techniques are even offered to help any hopeful racer round any curve, drift, or spin a race may require. Grand Turismo is a well-designed game worthy of the Greatest Hits title.

Guess it's OK to street race in this game!

7. The Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets game...
Dove Worldview:
Since this game follows the idea of witchcraft and wizardry, this game cannot be awarded the Dove Seal of approval. The whole game is based on the principle that magic is good and only parts of it are evil. But most Christians know that magic is evil. The violence in the game is not that bad. Although I enjoyed playing the game, parents are to be cautioned about the occult elements contained in this game.

I love it...the violence isn't that bad, but wizardry prevents it from getting the seal of approval.

http://www.dove.org/reviews/default.asp?SearchType=Source&Keyword=Theater

I'm not posting all of what they say, so if you haven't had the end spoiled for you, you're still safe.

snip

Content Description:
Sex: Some suggestive dialog
Language: hell 14, damn 8, f-word 1, s-word 4, n-word 2
Violence: Several Boxing Scenes with blood
Drugs: Medical drugs used
Nudity: Low cut or tight apparel
Occult: none

end snip

We get warned about low cut or tight apparel? Do the children of these people ever leave the house????
