2. Not All It's Cracked Up To Be
Having high self-esteem isn't all it's cracked up to be. There are lots of creeps who think the world of themselves. Think of John Gotti. And any number of Republican politicians.

3. I'm not so sure they have high self-esteem, just large egos
I think the high self-esteem people probably never become famous. Why bother, right?

4. I don't think high self-esteem is the same
as arrogance. An intelligent person can have good self-esteem, but an ignorant one becomes arrogant and belligerent. Good self-esteem means to me that one carries themself in a positive manner and try to elicit that from others.

9. I swing on this quite a bit
Perhaps, I have very high and very low self esteem at the same time. I often have very high expectations of myself. That would mean that I have high self esteem if I believe that I am capable of meeting my high standards. Sometimes, I don't meet my high standards and I feel like scum. In that, I have low self esteem. It is a constant struggle that I have considered giving up. I actually do better when I stop worrying about doing well. My best friend has the same problem too even though he wishes to give it up and appears much more easy going on the surface than I am. Old habits and upbringing are hard to give up though.

12. high on looks, low on ability
Totally a 180 from what I felt in high school and in college.

Now that I'm 32, I know that my body is better than that of most women my age (esp. ones who have had kids... it's sad how many people seem to get the "I'm married, I don't need to look good anymore" attitude). But, since I'm a SAHM, and, therefore, don't use my brain as much as I should, I'm pretty down re. what I can do.
