Who else is sick?!
Is there something going around that I don't know about?

I've got a hacking cough, runny nose, phlegm, sore throat, and a body temp of 95 degrees. And it's driving me crazy. I can't stop convulsing in coughing fits.

5. My mom had that, sorta.
She had a scratchy throat, runny nose, phlegm and a hacking cough. The cough lasted for weeks, sorry to say. Also at one point she thought she was getting better, but then she got sick all over again. :(

I'm sorry you're sick, I hope you feel better soon. :)

7. I started getting a sore throat last night
Was worse this morning. Now the throat is a bit better, but the upper sinuses are starting to clog. I'm drinking lots of orange/mango juice. I called in sick today, but I have to go in tomorrow.

8. There's something going around
My Mother in law to be and her sister had it and it lasted for several weeks. My MIL finally felt like getting out last week and my Aunt in law went back to work last week after being off for 3 weeks. She's a nurse and it took her a week to get into see a Doctor here in SW Ok.

Our family Doctor's are being overwhelmed. Because of everyone being sick I've had to wait 2 1/2 weeks to get in to see my primary care physician for a referral for an MRI. I broke my shoulder and sprained my neck on Valentine's Day and the x-rays came back showing a problem with one of my unfused vertebra in my neck. I'm not complaining at all since whatever's going around is making people feel really bad and once the actual symptoms go away they're so weak it takes awhile to recover. I figure my neck isn't in any imminent danger so I'll be more than happy to let the sick people go in front of me.

Hope you get to feeling better. Do your best to eat and drink where you can keep your strength up. From what my MIL said, the weakness is almost worse than the actual being sick.

Been fighting it for a month almost off and on. Between me and my family we can't get rid of it. Had to go to the hospital today because it finally caught up with my sinuses and started chaos with my eyes, nummay! Hope you feel better, get plenty of rest and drink tons of fluids!

12. This stuff is nasty....
I went from cold sweats to high fevers when I first got it, nausea, the whole bit. When I got it the second time no nausea, achy like the flu but the same as before. This time it's all my sinuses and lungs, my body isn't recuperating fast enough inbetween bouts, or so the doctor says. It's not fun I know that much. Have you tried taking anything for it yet?

15. Just Dimetapp
 It only helps the cough for three seconds. My doctor prescribed this pill for my cough but it doesn't work. It's supposed to last 12 hours and lasts just as long as regular medicine.

17. Well just rest for now
And lots and lots of fluids to help break up the cough a little bit. If it's a phlegmy cough, try Mucinex or anything with Guaifenesin in it....bronchitis every few months for me so this stuff always help the nagging coughs that won't clear up. I'm no doctor, but it always helps me breathe better once I can get my lungs cleared up a bit! I really do hope you feel better. I'm taking my own advice and heading off to bed!

 Take care

14. I had temps of
102 to 104, no headache but my bones actually screamed in pain ... or maybe it was the fever, but took me three weeks to start feeling human again. I never had a low body temp before. Can't you use a heating pad or something?

13. My neck feels like it's full of twigs
Scratchy throat, stuffy nose, persistent cough that holds its own against dextromethorphan. Whatever this stuff is, it's no fun at all.

At first, it felt like the flu - I had body aches for the first 24 hours. I have some drop in body temperature, but not a huge amount.

If your temp stays at 95 F, see a doctor ASAP. That's my wife's recommendation.

16. It's 96 now
I've always hovered around 97 when I'm well, so it doesn't seem too drastic to be at 96 right now.

31. Both my MIL and AIL didn't run much if any of
a temp. Not enough for them to even reach for the thermometer. Most of it was chest congestion, some off and on nasal congestion, some being achy. The AIL who's a nurse said she'd never had anything quite like it. She said it seemed as if most of her symptoms except for the chest congestion would come and go. The chest kept getting worse and worse though. Some days she'd be almost unable to talk without it inducing a coughing fit and then other days she wanted to cough but had to force it. And, of course, the weakness which she thought might be a lack of oxygen saturation because of the chest congestion.

The Doctor prescribed an antibiotic and a cough syrup that had vicodin to quiet the cough but had the guapherin (sp?) to make it easier to cough up the phlegm. No prescription decongestant because the Doctor didn't want it to interfere with her being able to easily cough up the phlegm. Doctor told her to use Afrin (nose spray) if she absolutely had to have some relief for nasal congestion but to use it sparingly since it is so highly addictive. Oh, and rest because it's one of those things that have to run its course.
