It's Shemp Howard's birthday!! The funniest goddamn Stooge EVER!!
Born today in 1895, died Nov 22, 1955...a true comedic genius who was taken from us all too soon...Shemp would be 110 years old today...and judging from this picture I don't think he'd looking any worse if he was still alive...

1. As I got older, I learned to respect his humor more and more ...
he was once called "The funniest man in Hollywood" and Abbott and Costello got him signed to appear in a bunch of their movies in hopes that he would be regarded as a "second banana" type guy and wouldn't get lead roles in comedies. This was because they feared he would outshine them.
