First off to all those wannabe critics on yahoo who keep putting this movie down for its over the top violence and its portrayal of women:
Number One if you haven't read the comic books and you consider yourself a keen person to review this particular movie you're dreaming so get your ass back in your chair and stick to reviewing movies whose trailers begin with some sappy guy saying "From the director who brought you Steel Magnolias"
The comics were very violent very gritty and very entertaining. It's not just outright mindless violence although it is very stylized what I like is it's brutal honesty. Without giving away any spoilers let's just say certain characters get what's coming to them.
If you are a fan of the comics you will not be disappointed at all. Every piece of dialouge in the movie comes straight from the writings of Frank Miller. No paraphrasing, no "let's change this to make it more 'audience=friendly' nothing not one scene taken out of the pages of the Sin City comics.
If you haven't read the comics but are interested in in the movie and you can stomach alot of stylized violence then check it out.
Also the reports that the comics and movies are sexist.
Okay put simply every single woman in the comic/movie are ass kicking take no shit from no macho man types as illustrated in the movie. They hold their own section of Sin City and they run the show and no one tells them what to do.
A pack of gun toting women who are slick, sexy and take no shit from no men, the kind that would send Gov Arnie home crying without his pants.
How can anyone call THAT sexist??
Anyways this film has become my favorite stand alone (unless sequels based on the other comics are made later) film.
Check it out if you get a chance!
