1. Incredible
I've never heard it. I've got Beatles and Gang Of Four doing BBC and they are exceptional.

I would love to hear that.

What year was it?

I love the BBC sessions because of the controlled live recording environment. It seems they often turn out to be superior performances.

2. It was released in 2003.
I have this collection, Led Zeppelin's and The Jimi Hendrix Experience at the BBC.

7. I mean . . .
. . . the band is playing live on the radio, with specific placement of microphones, volume and balance levels set, ambience taken into account, cues for special effects, EQs set for each instrument, etc . . . .

9. Each band gets one day,
to record their session. And a producer. They have to be fast and not mess about too much with little time for overdubs and fussing. This has produced some great recordings over the years. Earlier on they played live to an audience, as in the great Zeppelin sessions. Many of the later recordings were done for the late, great John Peel's show.
