i really really like ramen noodles...

ever since i was young i've loved them... now that i'm older i tend to make them differently... i usually boil the noodles, then drain the water and "stir fry" them with olive oil and some good sauce...

can anyone relate? i love food!

I ate too many in college to enjoy them much these days but I might try stir-frying them.

I boil them with just enough water to cover them once they're done. Add the seasoning plus some Szechuan spices. I can't eat them anymore without the spices! :bounce:

There's a lot of really crap food out there (ramen being one of them)... but with a little ingenuity it can be pretty good.

You know those Lipton Pasta&Sauce messes? I love the stroganoff fllavour - Brown some ground beef with onions, sautee fresh mushrooms with butter, garlic and parsley, dice some fresh tomatoes and add it all in. Pretty damn good.

(And, yes, I am an excellent cook/chef. I can make Stroganoff that would have you willing to sell you firstborn child. But who would do that on a daily basis? It takes work! Lotsa work!)

The Creamy Garlic version is pretty good too and all you have to do is, once it's done, stir in a can of tuna.

I've noticed that sorta crap easy to make food used to give easy additions to make it more tasty, but don't so much anymore.

Maybe it's time to compile a cookbook. You know, sort of a Crap Food For The Soul kinda book. How each of us has taken "easy" meals and done our own things to them to make them nourishing and tasty.

The really cool thing - so many many people who never considered themselves "good cooks" come up with really great ways of using these products... and I would like to see what their ideas are.
