This Marlins/Yankees game is quite a thriller
I thought for sure the Yankees would score after Williams led off with a double. Fox and Looper surprised me.

So now it's 3-3 going into the 11th, with Conine, Lowell, and Lee due up for FL.

Looks like Weaver's coming in for the Yankees, and he hasn't pithced this postseason. Surprised not to see Rivera in this situation.

7. Go Marlins
I gotta go to bed and this game is never going to end. I can't believe I didn't notice that Flarhity went to the Yankees. I guess the Rays haven't kept my attention much this year.

I think he's been in one or two games the entire postseason.

11. Whew
Got through the 12th. I'm impressed by the bullpen. Guys like Fox and Looper have come up big; I hadn't felt much confidence in them before tonight. Had Urbina only finished the 9th off, I'd be asleep by now.

19. Yanks blew it . . .
had the bases loaded a couple of times and couldn't capitalize . . . same problem they've had all year . . . much as I like them, I'm amazed they've made it this far . . . shows you what good starting pitching can do for you . . . they're still in the driver's seat, with best two out of three, and two of those in NY . . . my bet is they win the final game in FL, and then one of the final two . . . but I wouldn't count these Marlins out . . .

I watched all 12 innings, it was truly a thriller.

The Yankees came through with a little more of that "October Magic", thanks to Ruben Sierra and the boys.

Clemens pitched a great game, save for the first inning. Too bad he couldn't get the win :(.

Contreras was doing fucking awesome, they shouldn't have taken him out. The homer wasn't Weaver's fault though, that would have happened even to Marianno Rivera.

So the series is tied now at 2 games apiece, I do think that the Yankees will win tomorrow night and go on to win either game 6 or 7 at home. I hope it's game 6, and that Pettitte pitches.

Let's look at this though:

The first game of the series, the Marlins won by 1 run, and it was bitterly fought. Pretty scrappy win if you ask me.

The second game of the series, Pettitte destroyed the Marlins, and almost shut them out.

The third game of the series, Mussina destroyed the Marlins again, and we had a good rally towards the end of the game and ended up crushing them.

The fourth game, we came back from being down 3-0, and almost won it. We came real close a couple of times. We lost by 1 run.

So, basically, the Marlins had a couple of scrappy wins, and we had two convincing ones. Count on this to continue in the series, because they just aren't as good. Sorry, TSIAS, but ya know it's true, bro. :) I really hope I don't have to eat my words, but I really don't think I'll have to.

Btw, Bernie Williams was on FIREE tonight! 4 out of 6! He was one hit away from tying a world series record for most hits in a game. :)

21. I'm not surprised they didn't go with Rivera...
they only use Rivera when they have a lead, usually, TSIAS. Better to save him for a night when they are up by a little and need to close. I expect to see him tomorrow night.
