Any Windows experts out there?

Both my Excel and Word applications insist on constant spell-checking, making it all but impossible to start or edit any documents. (Interminable notices saying "The spelling check is complete." followed by my clicking "OK," followed by the same notice, ad nauseum.)

Naurally I've turned off the feature in the preferences, but that's not helping at all. And I can't locate any help on the microsoft site. Even Googling didn't yield anything promising!

I recently installed some security apps courtesy of my ISP, but other than that I can't imagine what's causing this, or how to fix it.

Any ideas?

3. Do a system restore...

There should have been one created when you installed the ISP's security application. I have had hit or miss luck with this but it is worth a try.

5. try Tools/Options/Spelling & Grammar

and play around with the check boxes. You may have check as you type thing selected .
