I watched an assload of movies this weekend.
Maurice--very good. Before Hugh Grant was really big.

Birth--good, but I thought the ending was a cop-out.

Hotel Rwanda--can I just say  and DAMMIT!

Poltergeist--oldie but a goodie. Watched it Sat. night with all the lights out, giggled and pointed out continuity problems. Yeah, I'm a blast to watch movies with, LOL.

Then today, saw Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy at the local movieplex. It was good. Had some laughs. That's about it. Had to move down a few rows because the guy behind me sounded like Darth Vader having an asthma attack. I've never heard anyone breathe that loudly in my life.

What movies have you seen lately?

3. The scene where she's explaining the chairs moving around the
kitchen very abruptly cuts off and suddenly they are standing in front of their neighbor's house, asking him if anything strange has happened in his house.

One of the worst, most blatant out and out mistakes in editing I've ever seen in a film.

But hey it's a good flick. They're here!!!

4. I hated how stiff Hugh Grant was in Maurice
but I read some reviews and apparently his character was kinda supposed to be that way.

It's an E.M. Forster novel and the only screen adaptation of his work I hadn't seen (Howard's End and Room With a View are the others) so I HAD to rectify that.

It was a dreamy movie, though.

8. I normally can't.
But he was very young and especially yummy in Maurice and wasn't playing what later became his typical character, so I overlooked it, like you did.

Plus I enjoyed Maurice partially because I kept thinking how much it would drive fundies BANANAS to see it.

11. Oceans Eleven is worth the rental price
Oceans Twelve is just confusing.

The Forgotten leaves a lot to the imagination, in a shallow way.

But I love Julianne Moore. What heterosexual male in his right mind wouldn't? ;)

9. "Assload?"
Is that more than a buttload, less than a shitload?

13. It's more than BOTH a buttload and a shitload
combined.

So don't use "assload" lightly.

Hey congrats on the shirt design! :toast: I love it! My daughter wants one!

Sin City - great visual feast

Deep Red - I hate Dario Argento... low rent Hitchcock knockoff

Into the Sun - another snorefest pseudo-actioner from Steven Seagal

Zatoichi: Blind Masseur - one of Shintaro Katsu's finest outings

24. My SO rented some real duds
Walking Tall with that moron who calls himself "The Rock." It wasn't a total loss, but it was close enough to count.

The Weirdest Movie in the World, AKA the Saddest Music in the World. I can't explain that one, but then, I needed a crib sheet for Eraserhead, too.

I bought the Blade Trinity pak and we watched II & III and lots of extras. It was decent.

Spider Man II was good and the extra features went on for hours.

AVP wasn't total suck, but it tried mightily. A couple good alien-predator fights, but mostly mediocre stuff.

Young Adam was monotonous and downbeat. Couldn't watch it.

The Butterfly Effect was dreary and violent and negative. Didn't like it.

25. I love the scene in Poltergeist where the woman is explaining how
the one guy videotaped a spoon moving an inch across a table in 5 or 6 hours. Craig T. Nelson takes her upstairs and says, "an inch, huh"? and then opens the door. Everything in the room is moving around very fast and the woman about sh*ts.
