Can anyone recommend a CD repair kit?
I've always been careful with my CDs, but somehow, someway, they always get scratched all to hell. I keep running across favorite songs that skip, and it's frustrating as hell.

I've seen these kits in stores where you put some shit on the CDs and its supposed to rub out scratches. Does this kind of thing actually work? Any testimonials?

1. wash with dish soap
and warm, running water. dry with a cotton towel. this prevents a lot of scratches.
someone had a post here the other day about using wright's silver polish.

4. I do this with my CDs...
...and it seems to help by removing some of the grime that can cause skipping, but it doesn't do anything for scratches.

I think I'll just have to try this scratch remover stuff, it sounds like it works.

5. i had one of those little crank thingies
it worked sometimes. but it is really important to always clean first. otherwise you are adding scratches by grinding in the dirt.

3. There is some liquid scratch remover
that they sell at the counter at our local Hastings... It doesn't even have a brand name.

It's just a non-descript white bottle with a black label that says 'CD Scratch Remover'. Its about 7.00 a bottle, but it works great!!

beyond that, I can't offer any advice. My wife destroys my CDs and DVDs. (And PS2 Games)
