9. Yep, works for me too about 90% of the time
Of course, I take a huge amount of ester-C (about 10-12 grams). That's one of the ways I can confirm that I really am fighting a cold rather than allergies because when I don't have a cold, I can't take more than 2 grams of C without, well, it doesn't need to be described here. But I can go up to that huge dose when I'm sick without it causing the, well, it doesn't need to be described here.

6. I hear ya.
My 2 & 4 yr olds are sick, I'm at the end of bronchitis w/ a cold. I have no idea how my husband escaped it, but hes not feeling sick at all.

I wish I could take zinc or extra vit c, but I dont think I can being 6 mo pregnant.

IM MISERABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pediatrician yesterday told me that they've been very busy this week with sick kids so whatever it is, its making its rounds and it isnt very nice.

8. I'd suggest to Rub Neosporin around your nostrils
Drink Orange juice and blow your nose as often as you can.

Unless the dreaded allergies have struck.

Then you just suffer. Or acquire pharmaceuticals.

Hope you feel better!

12. Why would you rub neosporin around your nostrils?

13. Kills germs, silly
If you're around any highly contageous colds, it can sometimes protect you as well as keeping your nose from getting so sore.

15. Right, see, this is where your logic is a bit faulty
a cold is a virus. Neosporin is an anti-biotic. There are exactly zero drugs that can help someone with a cold, other than those that can help to alleviate symptoms some (tylenol, sudafed, etc.)

Overusing anti-biotics, especially when they can have no helpful effect, is what leads to anti-biotic resistant bacteria.

16. Actually, as a former licensed respiratory practitioner i can assure you
that bacteria can also cause colds, and that viral infection can also lead to secondary bacterial infection.

A few dabs in the nostrils can help and has helped me and shouldn't lead to any widespread bacterial resistance in the individual, but that is my experience.

Results may vary...
