I avoid it like the plague. I don't like the crowds or the time it takes, although I do shop once a week (and once a week only) for groceries.

24. Count me in on this one
I hyperventilate when I reach the mall parking lot. I go only when I absolutely have to. The idea of being indoors with kids screaming and being run over by strollers the size of a small closet is NOT my idea of fun.

27. Oh, yeah.
I'm childless, though I don't dislike children by any means. My chief complaint about the grocery store is those little kid-sized shopping carts. I see many, many attentive moms accompanied by their children in the grocery store; but it seems that the children with inattentive mothers always are pushing those kid-sized grocery carts up and down the aisles at breakneck speed. Unfortunately, grocery stores here close at 6 p.m., so I don't have the option of shopping between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., as I did in the states.

7. I find it all overwhelming
I have too much stuff anyway, and the stores just have too many choices (yet few things that I actually WANT). I'm VERY impatient with it. I sorta have the "shirt dead now" approach to shopping. I need a shirt, I see the shirt, I buy the shirt-shirt dead now. I don't look for anything else in the process.

I get stressed about the money I'm spending, I worry if I'm "buying blue" or not, I worry about the effect I'm having on the planet by buying stuff I don't absolutely need, I get stressed out by the rude drivers in the parking lot and by all the SUVs with * bumper stickers on them.Man, I'm getting stressed just thinking about it!

My milk is DAYS past its date (we don't even drink milk, but I buy in "just in case"..

I toss out lots of stuff I DO buy, because I get too lazy to even cook :(

about once a month, I force myself to grocery shop...but I HATE it:)

Clothes shopping is hate even MORE..

I like comfy shoes, so I do actualy like shopping for them..Nothing beats a new pair of Clarks or Naturalizer sandals:)

15. I'm with you ... grocery shopping is the worst!!
I pretty much hate to shop for anything. But especially groceries. There's something about it ... can't put my finger on it. I hate to do it though. Once I had to do major grocery shopping, with two children in tow. I flew so fast through that store that I filled my cart to the brim and spilling over in under 45 minutes. It literally took me 45 minutes to park, go through the store, check-out and load the groceries. I HATE grocery shopping.

I really hate any type of shopping. I do some of it online just because I can comparison shop without driving all over town. When I find what I'm looking for I'll go to a store or two to find it and I'm done. There's more to life than spending all of it at the store(s).

50. I hate to grocery shop AND cook! (Dirty little secrets here...)
But I'm a great laundress. I've always loved to wash and dry clothes and I'm lucky to have an upstairs laundry room (right next to all the bedrooms and two bathrooms, where clothes are likely to get stripped off!) My son-in-law said he'd like me to wash for him (my daughter prefers cooking). I get out spots with Spray-and-Wash followed by Oxyclean.

Luckily, my husband has taken over the Costco food shopping in our retirement, thank goodness. I'm still trying to cook a bit, but I'd rather go out to eat.

10. Shopping sucks.
I don't mind online stores so much, but shopping in stores or the malls just scares me.

Then again, I am a lesbian, so maybe that has something to do with it.

P.S.
I have two pairs of shoes, one nice-ish and one for every day. I wear them until they fall apart before I buy new ones. Oh and I have some old leather boots that were my mom's that I wear camping, but those are at least 20 years old...

12. HOOO baby! I too hate to shop, esp. for clothes!
I enjoy grocery shopping: list, debit card, bags, etc...all under control!

But clothing? OMIGOD, I hate it! Fortunately, I love Lands'End, and their catalog...Most of what I wear comes from them. But I normally cannot buy shoes from a catalog, and I have a very difficult time with them...I too wear out my shoes! I'm not one little bit fashionable, and mostly that doesn't matter, but once in a while I wish I were more fashionable. Oh well...

YOU ARE NOT ALONE BY ANY STRETCH!

16. "Going-to-the-mall" is a national CURSE..
and unfortunately there are millions of people who think that it's recreation..

I must admit, that when malls were "new", it was a kick to park ONCE and go to a lot of cool stores in AIR CONDITIONING, but that phenomenon wore off for me about 40 years ago:)

I do not even Christmas Shop.. haven't for years.. I give people MONEY and let them get what they NEED or WANT..

or I order stuff online and have it sent to their houses..:)

I found a great price of a KitchenAid Mixer thing that my son & DiL wanted, so I just ordered it from a place in Miami, and 4 days later it was on their kitchen counter:) Easy as PIE..

22. Hate shopping, hate it, and I am a woman.
My mother thinks I may be a foundling. I hate shopping for anything. I think we always have enough food to keep body and soul together, and so what if it looks funny or makes for strange meals. SO WHAT? Go fishing or shoot a chicken or something, and make dandelion greens and shut up about it. We have milk, bread, eggs, fruit, other stuff. Eat to live, not live to eat.

Clothes? If I can't have it delivered to my doorstep, forget it. My mother shops garage sales for me because she is afraid I will finally just go out naked. Shoes? The yuckiest shopping of all. I hate to shop.

Friend, you are not alone in your hatred of shopping.

And the garden section. :loveya:

32. Nope..
I like to go to a store knowing what I want, find it, buy it and leave. On many a day since I am unemployed, almost everything I have on came from ll bean, cept the undies, since they don't sell those.

I hate shopping for shoes more than anything else. If I find something that is comfortable, I will sometimes buy a second pair as a back-up for when the first pair wears out. I haven't bought dress shoes in awhile, but when I do, I buy the same brand in a style that they have some slightly different versions of.

The other thing that I don't quite get is pocketbooks/purses. Now I will admit to having quite a few that I've bought over the years and rarely use. I almost never switch bags, unless I'm going to a function and don't want to carry my nylon shoulder purse. Does any woman constantly switch pocketbooks, or do they just buy them and let them sit?

Never liked to shop.

Even worse, I gave up animal products many moons ago. Shoe shopping (and purse, wallet, belt, briefcase, blah, blah, blah) sucks. Thank goodness for canvas.

No, you are not alone.

(I have a pet theory about malls...I suspect that mall management pumps some kind of mystery material through the HVAC system that is cumulatively addictive. The more time you spend at the mall, the more time you want to spend at the mall. I seem to be allergic.)

36. I HATE shopping
On those rare occasions when I go out to shop for clothes, if I don't see cute, complete outfits displayed in and around the store, I leave. If I see something cute I'll tell the salesperson to get me that outfit in a size 8. I don't have the patience to search thru the racks trying to put together an outfit. Besides, I hate the crowds, parking and screaming bratty kids that are associated with malls.

I'm so thankful for the internet. I do 90% of my shopping on-line and even that's drudgery, but I don't have to put up with rude shoppers and retail clerks. I just wish a local supermarket would start on-line grocery shopping. I'd gladly pay the extra to be able to order on-line and either have it delivered or pick it up curbside.

I have small yet wide feet, which are nearly impossible to find shoes for. Sometimes I can find a 7.5B that works, but since cute shoes are usually not stocked in my size, it isn't fun.
