Is it me, or have The Simpsons seemed to rediscover a spark of life?
In watching the two episodes last night I found myself doing something that I haven't done all that often lately and that would be laughing out loud throughout the episode.

Looking back and viewing some older episodes from this year it seems like the show is regaining some of the spark and mischief that it's been lacking for a while. Granted, I almost gave up after the Super Bowl episode this year but it seems like at least a few of the writers have reestablished some connection with the old spirit lately and have made the show actually fun to watch vs. just going through a weekly ritual.

In looking at the credits I've noticed that the better episodes have a Joel Cohen listed as the writer so hopefully the producers won't be too anxious to cut him loose any time soon.

1. That is the ENTERTAINMENT wing of Faux
While the NEWS arm beats the drum about scandalous things on the tee vee, and family values, and so forth, the ENTERTAINMENT arm of that same outfit goes out on the edge and pushes the envelope. It's how Murdoch wins...he plays both ends against the middle.

2. They haven't really lost it.
OK, there was that time in the last 90's, but IMHO, there have always been plenty of LOL moments. Last night's finale was great indeed.

3. It's different that it was in it's heyday
It's not quite as witty as it once was IMO.. But I still love it to death. It's certainly getting more political and anti-Bush/anti-religious extremism which is always good. :)
