Dear God...

Maybe somewhere along the way some of us forgot to thank you for the Blessings of a Democratic Nation. Maybe we just took our democracy for granted. Maybe we just took for granted the lung filling, life giving oxygen which comes along with breathing freely, speaking freely. Maybe we took for granted what a blessed gift it is to be able to learn, and to use our minds, to arrive at our own conclusions, free from indoctrination, to be presented with the gift of discernment.

Maybe we just forgot something God, because somewhere along the way, the Blessings that you have bestowed upon us and upon this Nation have been assaulted by a band of two-timing thieves and liars headed by the Bush Family Evil Empire and their current figure head, a man who claims that he is falling Your will, one GEORGE WALKER BUSH.

Dear God, the only thing I can understand about his claim that he is following your will, is that there must be an incredible abyss between what he says Your will is, and what it actually is.

How can looting the National Treasury to wage a war, enrich his already rich friends, take money away from programs for needing poor, elderly and the sick be Your Will?

How can it be Your Will that leaders lie so brazenly? How can it be Your Will that a man and his cabinet lie so willfully to confuse, distort, misguide and ultimately, rape a people’s trust?

I feel like I am out in the wilderness where only the strongest of the fittest survive and the weakest are left to die. How can it be so, when you said, “give me your meek, and your poor, and your tired? How can someone who knows you naught, claim, so brazenly so, that he hears Your Voice, that he is doing Your Will, that he is spreading democracy In Your Name in a world which due to him is becoming more murderous, more uncaring, more polarized, less trusting or believing of Your Message or Your Son.

Dear God, I do not understand this darkness that has befallen this country and that in turn it is befalling on another country through bombs, and bullets, and Fallujernicas, and operations MATADOR and the like. I do not understand the darkness Lord and I do not know how my country will again find the Light, but I have to hope that we will... or otherwise, as my friend said this morning over the phone, we might as well just ......

Dear God, if You can help us to understand the darkness, maybe we can figure out our way towards the Light.
