Help Me. I have to confess a terrible thing. I watch All My Children
I'm a middle aged woman who is college educated and a computer professional but I'm addicted to this show and have been since the 80's. I watched it some in the 70's but I'm hardcore now. I even read the AMC websites. I live in Huntsville, Al but it might as well be Pine Valley because much of the same intrigue goes on here. Huntsville can be very incestuous in relationships with people.

Anyone else care to confess? :-)

1. That's terrible! You should be embarrassed and ashamed!
You should be watching Days Of Our Lives instead. ;)

3. All I can say is, "Oh Erica, Erica, Erica"
Something that a real old lady used to say whenever she would watch her "story".

4. Don't be ashamed! It's genetic.
Every six months or so I have to spend the entire afternoon watching the ABC soaps (AMC, OLTL & GH). My mother was an addict and now I am too. *sigh*

I remember when Kelly Ripa showed up looking like Madonna... I remember when Dr. Joe was seen daily. I remember Cliff and Nina's wedding... ahhhh... confession is good for the soul. :)

10. Really? Phoebe?
I'm sorry I missed it. I knew she was getting up there in years, but I thought they'd bring her back from time to time for the next 5-10 years. Too bad.

12. Ruth Warrick died in real life a few months ago.
I was disappointed they never did a funeral for Langley when that actor died.

8. He was murdered by Ryan's crazy brother, Jonathon.
Now Ryan wants a vasectomy so he won't pass bad genes.

9. I think Ryan has awesome genes.
He keeps getting new siblings every year or two, and that troubles me.

11. If he gets a vasectomy will he have more scenes with his shirt on?
I swear that man does more scenes barechested than anyone else on daytime. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. :)

16. OK
I watch it, too. It is my favorite. Comes on at 11 am. Keeps me from sleeping until noon on my day off.

17. haven't watched in years... but
I do follow the updates in the paper. And from time to time on a day off - I might just peak in.

Given that Erica and Jack have been on and off from the time (long ago) that I watched - at least some story lines have been okay to follow. But summers always are more confusing - all those introduced kids - when just reading - its like... who is that?

18. Hi, my name is Steve, and I've been addicted to
Guiding Light for 22 years. During the summer of 1983, I was in an accident leaving me semi-bedridden for a month. A great friend would come by every day, make my lunch, have a beer, and smoke a bit to help ease my pain (4 broken ribs, cracked pelvis and shoulder blade), in return for my watching Guiding Light with him. By the end of the month, I was hooked and, 22 years later, I still hang in.

19. Hello, Steve
:hi:

My mother used to watch All My Children. Its always been on from noon till one in this part of the country, so when I'd go home for lunch it would be on. We're talking 40 years ago here. I caught bits and pieces of it over the years, mostly on days I was home sick. During occasional unemployment I catch up on it again. Its amazing how addictive it is!

23. Who's Who in Pine Valley
Well the younger actors get replaced pretty often but not the older ones. Phoebe just died though.

21. I too am addicted to All My Children
I blame my mother. She watched it my whole life and so I've been exposed to it since I was just a small child. Now I can't stop watching.

Oh, and by the way, Maria's kids need a good slap...stupid little brats. I think it's interesting that Jaime has to choose between his inheritance and Babe. If he were smart, he should pretend to break up with Babe, take the money, and put it in a Swiss bank account or something. Then he and Babe can be together and have $$.

22. Don't feel bad... I watched it for many years...
I watched almost from the beginning. :-) My grandmother watched us when we were sick and during the summer and we knew not to interrupt her "stories." When I started working full time, I would record it each day. Unfortunately, about 5 years ago, I couldn't manage to keep finding the time each evening to watch it. *sigh* So, I had to give it up.

Every once in a while, I'll miss it and try to catch up on a soap opera board.

Debbi
