This is the day I dreaded
had my AC on all day. Ouch! Just hate to see the electric bill especially since they increased their rates. We need a cool front! According to my thermometer, it was 102 today.

1. You got to move
It was 48 here in Iowa all day, until about 4 when all the clouds cleared and then it got to the mid 60's.

2. Really. What he said.
Get out of that pizza oven that is Phoenix. Get to somewhere more temperate.

3. I remember Phoenix summers...
the first year I lived in Phoenix was the summer when it hit 120; it was like walking into an oven. By the time I left to come up here, I was riding my bike to work when it was 110 and it didn't bother me; I still can't believe I did that..

4. Come south...
only low 90's south of Tucson today. Much cooler and only have had the AC on since I got home from work. It will be off in another hour.

5. Can't afford to move
I was born in Alpena, Michigan, sure wish I could move back there. It is a beautiful place.

6. What should I expect?
I live in Michigan and am going to see my son in Phoenix (he just moved there in January). I have never even been down south in the summer. Why go there when you have the best summer in the world at home, you know? I'm looking forward to seeing him, but not the weather you describe. I'll be leaving on June 15th.

8. I was just trying to point out that it's ...
usually about 10 degrees cooler in the southern part of the state than in the mid-section.

Last time I was in Michigan was back in the early '60s on a family vacation. I don't remember too much but do recall lots of green. Don't think I'd want to go there in winter tho from what I've heard from others who have moved here from MI. BRRRRR

7. Wow - we finally got out of the 30s, and into the 50s!
And then the temp. fell again so that we could have more cold rain all night.

I still have the furnace on!
