1. I only remember it vaguely.
And I always get it confused with "12 Monkeys." Both movies were rough on the old brainpan.

11. I lost my 12 Monkeys dvd not too long ago
Very sad turn of events. Don't see how you'd get it confused with Jacob's Ladder though.

5. Great Movie
Have the DVD.Was also great at capturing NYC in the 70s without it looking like nostalgia.

17. Good - send me the paper! I need to know all the
Biblical references in the movie without actually re-reading the Bible. :)

9. Awesome movie indeed
One of my favourites. It was a big influence on the Silent Hill video games too, which I also fucking love.

12. It's almost a good movie
the ending is a dumb, and very predictable, cop-out, IMHO. Robbins was great.

13. The ending was an homage to "An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge" was it not?

19. I didn't know that
My objection is the sudden, and all-too-pat, injection of a deus ex machina that conveniently explains everything in terms of the evil military-industrial complex. Now, I have no problem regarding the military-industrial complex as essentially amoral and sometimes evil, but it's also a trite cop-out to end a movie like this. Leaving the phenomena unexplained (is it real or is it Memorex?) would have made for a much creepier movie overall. The parts when he can't figure out what is and is not reality, THAT'S what's scary.

22. 'Twas
Or what some might say a "ripoff". (I don't think I'd go that far, however.)

The Bierce story concerns a Civil War vet as opposed to a Vietnam vet.

14. AAAAAAAAAAH. Jacob's Ladder. I have the DVD
and you're making me want to watch it again The memorable scenes that stand out most for me were-

When those cute girls were singing,"Please please wait a minute Mister Postman", and you could see him drinking it in, and those dimples showing themselves. Him, sauntering backward and waving.

When he was at the party-

And that woman read his palm and grinned and said, "You're already dead"

And his girlfriend was dancing with a guy, innocently at first, then erotically, then it became almost bestial, and then a horn emerged from her mouth (his hallucination).

That movie terrified me, and it was SO GOOD.

21. I actually had to run to a bar to get a drink...
Edited on Thu May-19-05 02:38 PM by skypilot
...after I saw that movie. It really rattled me and got under my skin. If you haven't seen the DVD, you should. The deleted scenes are really intense. I'm kinda disappointed that they were deleted but on the other hand I might have had alot more to drink after seeing the movie if those scenes had been left in.

23. To this day
To completely creep out my friend Dan, all you have to do is shake your head rapidly, like the weird ghost-zombie did in that movie.
