Meals on Wheels
I did that for a year or so. Was not for free., we were paid a minimum wage.

I went to the old man's house. He lived alone. He was almost blind. He would shuffle slowly into the kitchen when I arrived with his lunch. I would help him sit down, get him silverware. I felt terrible sorry for that old man--all alone. I was the only person he would see for days on end.

One day I went into the kitchen, he did not come shuffling to meet me.
I start a search of the house as we are instructed to do. I hear a voice crying out for help. I find my old man on the floor in the bath room, his face is bloody, he is crying out "My legs, my legs, I only have one leg." I look in amazement. Some how he has managed to get both legs into one pant's leg. I start to laugh..But it is not funny. I run next door, ask the people there to call 911.

Back in the bath room I comfort the old man, hold his hand, talk to him. The EMS arrive, they too cannot suppress a smile.

Later that day I received a call from the MOW people. "Ed did you touch that old man, he has Scabies."

So when Bush* says go to a shut ins home tell them you love them., I think "Yes Mr. Bush*, why don't you do that sometime."
