There's been an on-going problem with a neighbor -- I would just call him a f***king a$$hole but that would be insulting to other f***king a$$holes

anyways - without going into details about the on-going problem -- this is what happened yesterday evening...

we were leaving the house to go pick up our new dog -- the neighbor was outside and standing near the driveway. I knew his wife just had a baby (#4) and came home yesterday, so I'm thinking I would be neighborly and maybe set a different tone to our interactions...

I wave, and in my friendliest voice I say "Hey, congradulations on the new baby, how's everyone doing?"

He stomps over to the "property line" and sneers "what fucking business is it of yours!???"

me: I was just trying to be friendly, you don't have to be such an freaking asshole about it -- so just forget it

Then I get into my car and leave him standing there yelling....

I wish they hell they would just move....

Make sure you get all permissions, have the survey done, and build that sucker as high as the law allows. Sometimes there's no dealing with crazies...

jerk-face is doing it himself...

this is part of the problem -- the driveway is a right-of-way for another neighbor, and also runs along side of our property

a couple of months ago, jerk-face "blocked" off" the right of way with re-bar pounded in the ground, "painted" rocks and logs -- he had to remove them, but not without the zoning board coming out and telling him to do it

so now he's putting up a fence along one side of the driveway/right of way and we heard him yaking to a buddy the other day (he has a loud voice and it's hard not to overhear him) that he's going to put one up on the other side (our side) too...

my partner says he's like a male dog that has to piss on every tree, rock, twig and blade of grass to mark his property

we may still put in some hedges to extend the hedge line -- have to find some that will grow in the shade

at least my neightbors just scream at each other every night. "I fu**ing hate you!" "Why don't you fu**ing get out of my life!"

4. The poor guy...

it probably Catholic, his wife won't use birth control, she keeps spitting out kids left and right, every time he gets near her, she gets pregnant, he's horny as hell but doesn't want to have sex again, he can't masturbate because that's against church law too, the bush economy is crushing him to death beneath a mountain of debt........
you get the picture.
Either that or he really IS a complete asshole and it's just his nature. :shrug:

some little baptist religion that doesn't believe in halloween...

wife just makes excuses for him -- last winter the excuse was that he's on pain meds for a back problem and it makes him grouchy -- excuse meeee???? I'm on pain meds and they send me to la-la land, forget about being grouchy I'm barely conscious

this spring the excuse was -- he just sounds like he's yelling because he's hard of hearing and talks loud.... uh-huh - since when do hard of hearing people who talk loud punctuate every other work with "f***ing" this or "f***ing" that

meanwhile - the 5 or 6 year old son is outside calling his sister a "f***ing" whore... maybe the kid is on pain meds and hard of hearing too

8. that reminds me of a neighbor i had

their two daughters were outside one day. the older one was 6 and the younger one was 4. They were both climbing this concrete wall in their yard and the 4 year old almost knocked the 6 year old off and the 6 year old goes "Watch it you f-ing bitch! You f-ing moron! I'm gonna kill you!" :eyes: I wonder where she learned those words....

9. couple other things about the "fence"

on the left side of the driveway are utility poles for the neighbor in the back -- where jerk-face has his "fence line" marked out, it effectively blocks access to the utility poles...

we know that on our property deed there is a clause for right of way for utility companies to have access to another pole that is on our property -- it's an additional 4 feet on both sides of the pole to the existing right of way - his fence line on our side also cuts off access to the poles

when my partner first bought the house and was planting the hedges - a utility truck was passing by and told her to make sure the hedges did not extend or block off the poles - if they did and utility workers couldn't get to the poles they either would cut down the hedges or not do the work until the hedges were removed... (this was about 13 years ago)

so this means if the utility companies have to do some work - they'll take down the fence or just not do the work until the fence is removed/moved

meanwhile - Mr. I-swear-loud-because-I'm-on-meds-and-hard-of-hearing was talking to a buddy of his yesterday evening and said he was going to move his mailbox to the corner of the driveway by his garage...

our mailing address is a rural route - and the Post Office requires all mailboxes to be accessible from the road or they won't deliver mail... so if jerk-face moves his box he won't get mail..

My partner went all hissy fit when she overheard this -- I told her not to get upset - it won't disrupt our mail delivery, just his

she then asked if I thought she should mention it to him -- Nope, he wouldn't listen and will probably just scream at you and threaten to shoot us

of the rest of the neighborhood... that the wife is abused, at least mentally/emotionally

but as another neighbor, who survived an abusive marriage said - she's going to have to make the first step and get some help, not going to do any good unless she recognizes her situation and decides to get out of it

I'd bake some cookies for you.

If the fucking asshole from hell (FAFH) were my neighbor, I'd arrange for the rest of the neighborhood to mow their lawns at 5:30 am on Sunday.

We have some jerky neighbors on one side of us, but at least they pretty much keep to themselves. They've done some things that have annoyed us, but no big issues. The neighbors on the other side are very friendly.

Sorry you got stomped on in the neighbor lottery. :(
