1. I see an obvious infraction of the Honor Code in their banner.

The jock in the banner is obviously attempting to cop a feel from that girl....or wait...is it possible he is simply trying to provide guidance for a fellow male student? That purple bag lying next to him certainly calls into question his sexual preference.

Should the jock or the purple bag student be confronted and be requested to report themselves to the appropriate Dean or Resident Director within 48 hours and/or report the alleged infraction and those involved to Student Affairs?

Tough call. Not an easy path, that Liberty Way.

2. Yes, the man who started THIS site went to Falwell's University

and thank goodness he got the hell out of there! But he sure did use what he learned there to make a great website!
His name is Chris Harper...=)

a Landover Baptist prayer from Chris:

"Dear Lord, I know that I am worthless and a constant source of irritation to you. Thank you for not killing me today and flinging my limp corpse into the flames of the sadistic Hell you created. As a True Christian, I love you with all my heart, convenience permitting, and am only glad your nasty temper was not turned on me today.

Lord Jesus, I know that your love is unconditional. All you ask is that I do everything you demand and flatter you regularly and without shame or regard to the mess you make of everything you try to create.

Even though you made some noise about giving away all our possessions to the poor, please guide your Republican party to effect that which you most desire tax cuts for folks rich enough to tithe.

In this I pray,

Your humble servant,

Oh, and while I have you, Jesus, I really want me one of them new Lexus two door automobiles. So please call on me to withdraw sufficient funds from the tax-free coffers of Landover Baptist Church's offshore accounts so that you may bless me with the leather upgrade and onboard navigation."

3. Please talk to your grandparents. BU in the 50's?
Mixed dorms are not to many peoples liking even to day and I recall when the Alaska pipe line was having trouble with mixed bath rooms and those were grown men and women in the 70's and 80's.Since we feed half our kids pills to learn to control them selfs and no one learns by trying, this may be OK for the ones that want it.If you can not act in a lady like way then maybe you must be made to do it by your parents in a college like this.I also would not mind seeing children of 13 or so put on something that covers up the crack in their back end and covers the bust. I may be old but it seems like a good thing to have dress codes for school. And please do not say dress is not important. Women always knew Men saw sex in a way women did not. No young girl shows half her body for her girl friends and every boy in school knows that.Give me a break, it is what this college teaches that is really scary.:scared:

the Lynchburg movie theaters altogether. They've lightened up as this infraction (along with listening to the "wrong" kind of music, even in the privacy of your dormitory room) would lead to expulsion.

The school's policy on entertainment is still onerous though.

6. Well BU in the 50's was not that bad.
We could go to all the art movies we liked but we were told to go in groups. Women on the street at night alone have never been safe. We did have hrs. to not play music but they did not care when we could.

http://www.pensacolachristiancollege.com/rules.htm

Pensacola Christian College is a fascist institution. The above site was put together by alums to warn off other kids. They fought PCC in court to keep the www.pensacolachristiancollege.com domain (the official site is www.pcci.edu).

The administration of PCC considers Bob Jones University and Liberty University to be liberal.

No shit.

7. Where's David Horowitz?
Isn't there a problem with the "free flow of ideas" at this school?

Does anyone know if there are any federal grants or other programs tied to Liberty? Like animal husbandry (Falwell genetics could feed several small African counties for years) or some goofy research grant? There's gotta by a payoff by this regime for one of it's loudest and most obnoxious cheerleaders.

9. Do Liberty College students get jobs?
In my 30 years of work, I have never met a Liberty College (or Bob Jones Univ) grad. Where would one get a job after attending a shit hole institution like those hate-religion colleges?

They must not be capable to work for professional firms, or they hide their sheepskin so they don't get laughed out of the office.

10. Yeah
I know a Liberty University grad, my friend Doug. A few years ago, I worked with Doug at my brother's computer company for a summer. He was a good guy. He listened to a lot of Christian rock (DC Talk, etc.) but also a lot of non-Christian music (Nickelback, etc.) and seemed really casual about his religion.

18. Wow - so if a woman gets pregnant, she's really screwed
Either have the abortion and lose the scholarship and be reprimanded, etc., or be forced to have the baby and probably still get booted out of school either for "immorality" or because of lack of attention to studies while trying to deal with a new baby.

The compassion leaves me teary-eyed.

21. the policy at Oral Roberts University....
....is that if a girl gets pregnant out of wedlock, she is immediately expelled.

If a guy gets a girl pregnant out of wedlock, he is fined $50.

I am not kidding. I grew up in a fundy church and school where almost every teacher and all the admins are ORU graduates, and a lot of my friends succumbed to the pressure and went there for college (I didn't) -- I have my facts straight on this, unless they've changed it since January of this year.

17. Mine did
Interestingly enough, they've slacked off on some of the rules since I went there -- they're letting students stay out one hour later (1:00 AM,) on the weekends than they did in my heyday...

With no further ado, I present Northwest College of Kirkland, WA to the fine folk of DU. This is long, and takes a bit of reading, but I'm sure many of you will appreciate the pearls of wisdom gleaned therein...

http://www.nwcollege.edu/handbook/11community.html

Here's just a few, for those who'd like the executive summary:

No dancing
No drinking
No smoking
No illicit substances
No premarital, extramarital, homosexual sex
No gays
No public displays of affection beyond handholding
Women, especially, must dress "modestly" at all times
One must register one's VCR and television with the staff. Also, one's roommate must APPROVE the fact that you'd like to have a TV and VCR in your room. If that isn't bad enough, one's roommate also has approval over anything shown on said television or VCR.
Must attend chapel daily, Monday - Friday. You will receive a pass/fail on this. You must also attend a neighborhood church each Sunday -- they check.

And people wonder why I left the church after my sojourn at Northwest College...

Julie

p.s. I want you all to know that I can use the "F" word with authority. I also dance at every opportunity, watch "R" rated movies with impunity, and enjoy the subtleties of a great Cosmopolitan at every opportunity. BTW, I also shacked up with DH before we got married.

Let's just say that I live my life in such a way that I violate NC's "Code of Conduct" at every available opportunity.
