Any women here who smoke cigars?

I suddenly want to try it. I don't know where to start. Someone told me Cubans are the best, is it possible to get Cuban cigars somehow? I'm in the U.S. :shrug:

If you want to try cigars, you may just want to buy a cheapy. Understand that cheap cigars (under 5$) aren't very good. If you do buy a cheapy, try Garcia Vega green leaf cigars. Green leaf cigars have a richer, smoother flavor- and Garcia Vega makes the best machine rolled.

Here's the thing. I've always wanted to try a cigar. I knew another woman about 3 years ago who smoked little thin cigars and it just looked cool. I'm a reformed cigarette smoker of 11 years and have no desire to pick up another cigarette. But a once-in-a-while thing like a cigar seems like something to try.

So earlier today I stop in a cigar shop with my best friend. I explain to the guy behind the counter what the deal is and recommends "Cojimar Vanilla - Sugar Tip" and a few other flavors. Just under $3 a pop. Little skinny cigars.

First few puffs were kinda cool. Sweet. Later in the day, try again, but I decide it's just tasting nasty. Tonight, same thing. I'm on vacation so this is like, a thing to try I guess.

Ok so I also have this fatter "Olivero Vanilla", which is the only thing that actually smells like a cigar through the wrapper. And I also have one Avo Uvezian. Whatever that means. That's the only one that's not flavored. And it was about $7.

Thanks for the recommendation on the Garcia Vega. I'll check 'em out.

Also, my friend a few years ago smoked Havana Honeys. Any experience with them?

And do you ever smoke flavored cigars? Are they generally gimmicky? Feels that way.

Or I have; it's been a while since I had one, but now I really want one. I smoke a sort of petite cigar called "Panter." Comes in a little tin with a panther on top. (The tin says "Mignon.")



I haven't tried too many other kinds. I like these because they're butchy-femme or femmy-butch or something. :) (The one time I "splurged" and bought a fancy, expensive cigar, it tasted like crap.)

5. This is the best thread ever.

I used to smoke cigars--okay, like, one once a year--before I quit smoking in 1999. You know how ex-nicotine addicts say that the urge never goes away? Well, I can't be one of them. The thought of smoking again makes me want to vomit, yes, even for "that" feeling. I thought American tobacco products SUCKED towards the end of my usage of them, and they've only gotten worse since that time. But cigars? Now that you've reminded me...oh, what I wouldn't give for a good cigar again. I never managed to get my hands on anything Cuban...but I got to have a $100.00 something or other on one of my birthdays once (present from the ex, pre-asshole years). Tasty.

No! Feeling! So! Vulnerable! Must. Not. Smoke. Nooooooo. We have a couple of nice importers in my city. They have good stuff.

7. Well, you should smoke the crap I tried today. You'd be done.

They started out fairly tasty and then I was about ready to yak.

I guess that's what I get for smoking $3 cigars.

Everyone I know who's quit smoking and then taken up cigars "once in a while" ended up majorly addicted again within a couple of months and back to the same old craptastic cigarettes.
