Dog owners and their dogs should be registered like sex offenders.
There has been a few heated discussions on here about sex offender registries, and I'm not here today to rehash that. I've heard the stories about reoffenders and also the stories about people ending up on them who were taking a leak at the side of the road. There will be problems if we have them; there will be problems if we do not have them.

But I will say this: dog owners and their dogs should also be on an online registry. People should know if someone who has made a choice which could land them in the emergency room, or worse, is living in their vicinity. Also, pictures of neighborhood dogs should be easily accessible so that if one is wandering the neighborhood or biting people, it's owner could be identified.

LoZoccolo has sustained three dog bites which required medical attention.

1. I'm also sure you've had paper cuts. Should we register and take photos
of paper too?

2. That's irrational.
Its already illegal in most places for dogs to wander about- if you see one off a leash you can call animal control and let them deal with it.

One of the dogs I got bit by was wandering around the neighborhood; if I hadn't known whose it was, they may not have taken responsibility. The dog could actually wander off, bite someone, and come back home without the dog owner knowing that they have something on their hands now.

Another one I got bit by when I rolled up the driveway on my bike selling stuff for a school fundraiser. I could have skipped that house if I'd known they had a St. Bernard.

I don't see what's so unreasonable, if people are voluntarily going to have a potentially dangerous animal in a residential area, about expecting them to take responsibility enough to warn people of the danger.

4. So you apparently believe all dogs to be dangerous...
:eyes:

I do empathize for your experiences, but my God, you do draw broad conclusions, don't you?

5. Instead, how 'bout this...
Let's make it mandatory that all homes with dogs have a "Beware of Dog" sign or some such thing. Then, when some person comes to sell magazines or something, they can pass by the house so that they don't put THEMSELVES in the path of danger.

Sorry you got hurt. I hope that if the dogs were indeed vicious, that their people took responsibility.

8. Lots of people without dangerous dogs
use the "Beware of Dog" sign- it keeps people away better than an electronic surveillance warning!
