My closest friend in the world is having surgery tomorrow.

I'm really afraid. He's not in good health. He is obese and his lungs are very unhealthy.

I'm scared. :cry:

1. What sort of surgery? Were the doctors opptomistic?

6. He's having gastric bypass.

Because of his size, his lungs aren't able to oxygenate his body anymore. He was born prematurely, so his lungs never fully developed. He gets pneumonia at least once a year and has nearly died from it. As you know, pneumonia is prevalent in post-op patients if they don't get up enough. I am worried.

The doctors seem optimistic, but I can't help buy worry. He's the only person on this earth who ever accepted me just the way I am.

10. the doctors wouldn`t do this if it wasn`t necessary

they have checked him over to see if his body could stand this procedure. infection is the real risk and i am sure they will monitor this very closely.
if you can visit him then you can monitor his environment to make sure things are done properly..
