Anyone work on Capitol Hill? (that might have any insight on job openings)
I've been out of work for three months now, luckily I got a nice severance from my last employer. For the first month and a half I actually gave some thought to what I wanted to do with my life. My previous employment was in banking, it was handed to me by a former boss and it was a step up from managing retail. Ultimately it wasn't where my passion was, so after 5 years the day finally came when I was laid off and I was out on my own.

So I thought about it for a while and realized that I'd like to get back into work on Capitol Hill (for a house or senate member, a committee, or one of the Capitol offices ie. Sergeant at Arms etc). I previously had an internship on a committee and a staff assistant position with a southern democrat. Now, ten years later, I am at a loss for contacts on Capitol Hill. I continue to use all the avenues I should including placement offices on the House and Senate side, websites, and dropping off resumes but so far I am having very little success.

So, If any of you work for the federal government and happen to know of any positions open in your area then send me a pm and I could send you a resume.

Ugh, this post now sounds like spam, sorry about that but I'm getting frustrated.
