1. Why would someone trying to look tough paint themselves a black eye
?

13. Three of the actors did have parts in "48 Hours" with Nolte/Murphy
"Ajax" was the primary bad guy "Ganz"

"Luther" was another "Luther" (talk about typecasting :o) )

"Rembrant" has some small role as a garage attendant

3. I think the idea is to offset the black lips
Anyway, I just saw The Warriors for the first time ever through the new DVD and I thought the Baseball Furies definitely had the best look of the primary antagonists. Even more so, since they were the only ones that had any sense of menace during the montage that was set to "Nowhere to Run".

although the whole movie did come off as some sort of fever dream.

I found it interesting that the idea of the movie was basically drawn from some ancient Greek or Roman tale.

11. Yeah, the ads for the game is what prompted me to re-watch the movie
after 20 years or so :).

12. Having bought it, I can say it's worth the expense
One of the best "beat down" games in years and the developers (Rockstar of GTA fame) gradually build up to the action in the film by creating a back history of the Warriors that takes up about 2/3rd of the game.

However, if you thought GTA was violent this goes one step further in the way attacks are carried out.
