I got called a Lesbian today - was I supposed to be offended?
Long story, basically I moved a woman's cart out of the way at a store...she got mad at me, I told her that it was inconsiderate for her to park her cart that way, and then she called me a Lesbian. I wish I had been thinking more quickly...

I was not offended by being called a Lesbian, by the way. I was offended at her overall rudeness.

Especially if she called ME a lesbian... that really would be bizarre...

Still, there are people in this society that will shoot their pet pooch, believing it to be homosexual. Be glad that weird lady wasn't the same way; shooting people by thinking they have homosexual tendencies, whatever those may be...

25. I'd certainly never use the word "lesbian" as an insult.
Hey, I like women, so why shouldn't women like women?

(I'm not being a smartass here. I wouldn't ever use "homo" or the like as an insult either. Guy-on-guy doesn't appeal to me, but it's not my business to tell anyone else how to live their life. You're a guy who likes other guys, rather than women? Fine with me. One of my sons tells me some day that he's gay? Wouldn't make him any less of my son.)

51. GMTA!!
I would have died laughing, and told her that no one had ever tried to pick me up in the grocery store, and then said, "That is a huge compliment! But, no thank you-"

Years ago, a woman in a drugstore in Cleveland, OH asked me about retiring to Asheville NC--where I was living at the time. She whispered very loudly, but in that "conspiracy voice," "I heard there aren't many blacks there."

I whispered back just as loudly, "Oh, I don't think you'll have a problem, I NEVER would have been able to guess you were black if you hadn't told me. Your skin is so light!" And walked off leaving her with her mouth hanging wide open....presumably so she could fit her other foot in.

:hi:

I was standing in line to check in for my mammogram. I was standing with my feet slightly apart with my weight on one foot and my hands folded in front of me. A man came up behind me pushing his wife in a wheelchair and rammed her right into my leg. His wife told him to be careful because he'd just hit my leg. He "whispered" to his wife, "She stands like a man, I bet she's a lesbian." I almost busted out laughing and had all I could do to keep from telling her how sorry I felt for her being married to such a jackass. When I told my sisters about it they said I should have tried to pick up his wife.

Like you, I wasn't at all offended, just surprised at his complete lack of manners.
