(Pssst. Guys. I'm whispering because I don't want them to hear me...
I just accidentally got into the "September 11" forum, and I couldn't help taking a quick look around; you know, kind of like how you can't help slowing down and looking at a car wreck...those people over there, they are, I don't know quite how to say it, they're just not like the rest of us at all. The word "obsession" falls several orders of magnitude short of describing the atmosphere over there.

GD is a kiddie playground in comparison.

Listen, don't tell those people over there that I said anything, OK? I just felt like I had to talk about it, because it was kind of disturbing.)

Ahem. So, how is everyone in the Lounge on this fine evening?

7. Tinfoil curtain? No, ma'am, that there was an iridium-clad titanium
curtain, with a full nickel-silver-mesh Faraday cage, and Alien Tractor Beam Detectors every five feet along the perimeter, it was.

3. I've never ventured over there....
Perhaps I should sometime!

I'm good, finally done for the semester, woo-hoo! Now I just have to figure out whether I'm going to finish my EE degree, too, or just the German, as that will help determine what class(es) I take in the spring. Feels nice to be done for a bit, though!

How are *you* doing?

10. "East Street Thunder?" A band? The name of a CD?
Something I should buy and listen to, because it's good?

I don't listen to the radio much (except for college stations and WPKN), so sometimes I don't hear about the good new music out there.

17. Thanks. But it's the "E" Street band, not "east." Boy, am I old;
I used to see Springsteen in bars in Seaside Heights for free. That was a LONG time ago.

21. So the cold weather turns your hands into concrete?
Mine, too. It's annoying at the store, taking four minutes to try to grasp a couple of bills to pay for your stuff, isn't it?

Go dunk your hands in some warm water; they'll loosen up.

12. Oh, no. I've never been afraid of anything in my life (truth, and it's
not a healthy condition to have), but I'm NOT about to post there.

I have a family to think of.

16. You think they're nuts? I've heard of this group of conspiracy theorists
who believe that the scientific community is lying to us about climate change, and that all the other Western democracies are trying to hurt America by foisting a bunch of unnecessary emissions protocols on us.

What's really scary is that instead of sitting in front of the computer in their jammies at 3AM, hammering such theories out at the keyboard with their Cheetos-stained fingers, these guys are like...you know...running the country. :scared:
