What RW fundies do for Christmas

True story....

My sister is married to this RW nut job. He can't help it because his parents are exactly the same. My sister's son is 17 now, but when he was young my sister's husband and his parents did not want the boy beleiving in Santa because it was lying and as everyone knows, Santa is just a code word for Satan. My sister put her foot down and told them that he WAS going to beleive in Santa whether they liked it or not. They went along with her until this one Christmas.

He was about 5 at this particular Christmas and my sister had got him a fire engine to be from Santa. She hid it in the top of her closet so that he wouldn't find it. Her husbands parents were visiting them during this time, and she had to leave one evening to go to the store or somewhere. The husband and the parents blindfolded the kid and set him down in the floor, then they took the fire engine out of the closet and set it in the floor in front of him and took a picture. Their plan was to show him the picture after Christmas to prove to him that there wasn't a Santa Clause.

They showed the picture to my sister when she returned home and told her what they were going to do. She told them that if they did she would leave with her son and none of them would ever hear from her or see her again.

These are some sick people.....what in the hell would drive someone to do something like that?

3. Along the same lines as the MIL of a friend of mine.

The friend and her husband declined to go to the MIL's church or be as fundy as she was so she took their cat and had it put to sleep as a punishment when she was supposed to be taking care of it for a weekend.

I'm glad they didn't have kids at the time.

Conversion of property at least, probably cruelty to animals too. There are plenty of grounds for a lawsuit here. Even more for institutionalization, being dressed in a straitjacket and shot full of Thorazine.

They cut her out of their lives completely. She has 2 grandkids now that she's never seen...in fact, unless somebody else in the family told her, she doesn't even know they exist.

13. I know someone in that position

The husband's parents have yet to see their 10-month-old grandson because they refuse to abide by a few ground rules: no using racial slurs around the child, no using homophobic language, and no telling the kid he's going to burn in hell. Being able to hold on to their hatred is more important to them than a relationship with this child. It's gotten so bad, that they are on the verge of deciding to cut off all contact.

This evil woman murdered a poor, defenseless animal to send a message to her own child. I just can't imagine that kind of hate, for animals and for your family. And all over religion. Jesus never killed anyone. I hope she does not expect this child to take care of her if she is old or sick. Things do have ways of working out.

That they never talked to her or contacted her again after that incident. In fact- you could bring a huge smile to my face if you told me that the "MIL" lived out her remaining days lonely, sad and depressed, crying to herself "Why am I alone? Why won't anyone call me or come over?"...
