Four Vikings Charged in Boat Scandal
<http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory?id=1409538>

" Quarterback Daunte Culpepper and three other Minnesota Vikings were charged Thursday with three misdemeanors each for taking part in a bawdy boat party earlier this season on Lake Minnetonka.

Culpepper, Bryant McKinnie, Fred Smoot and Moe Williams were charged with indecent conduct, disorderly conduct and lewd or lascivious conduct, according to court papers.

Prosecutor Steve Tallen's decision was based on findings by the Hennepin County sheriff's office, whose investigators reviewed allegations of lewd and drunken behavior aboard a floating party Oct. 6 that involved some Vikings players.

Crew members complained that some people took off their clothes and engaged in public sex acts during the cruise, according to Stephen Doyle, an attorney representing the boat owners, Al & Alma's Supper Club and Charter Cruises in Mound. The crew members identified 17 Vikings among about 90 people on the two boats. "

All I gotta say, as a Bears fan, is hahahahaha!

sex acts with prostitutes in front on minors is a big deal in anyone's book. Not all the employees were 21 which isn't mentioned here.

Stephen Doyle, the attorney representing Al & Alma's, said sex acts were performed in front of employees, and many of the employees were fearful for their safety. The boat captains decided to end the cruise early and turn around because of the activities.

Bud Grant where are you? Bear fan you are one a done if you make the playoffs. Orton can't win you a playoff game.

41. I think they were stupid to think they could get away with it,
but the boat company had to knwo that things would get crazy.. Shame on them for having underage workers, and shame on the owner of the boat for not asking more questions and using better judgement when it comes to renting out his boat..
I was surprised when the whole thing happened, that the boat was rented..It;s not like these guys are paupers..

This stuff happens all the time.. and the stupidity of it always gets me.. When we lived in Indiana, a bunch of COPS got busted for having "naked swim parties" with underage girls no less...where did they have these parties?? The Howard Johnson's indoor pool.. Stupidity is not limited to jocks..

50. These boats were usually rented for the cruise and food and cocktails
It was never meant to be an orgy boat.
As a Minnesotan, the team was doing terrible at the time and for them to go out and act like a bunch of drunken druggy sex crazed maniacs was sickenting.
Apparently it signaled that the they were out of control.
I'm glad some got busted and more probably should have.
They made the whole state hold their heads in shame and I don't have a problem with drinking or sex.

The old "boys will be boys" crap doesn't work here.

What these "men" did was disgusting and illegal. Several young women were terrified that they were going to be sexually assaulted by these over size, overpaid pigs.

I am Minnesotan and a Vikings fan and I am outraged at what took place.

a few years ago when it was declared unconstitutional and the state AG and Governor Jesse had no interest in challenging the district court's decision. I don't think it was ever appealed to the Minn. SCT. Also, The SCOTUS declared Texas' "sodomy" law unconstitutional a few years back - that was that got the reichwingers ready to string up Justice Kennedy.

No Packers appeared in court as a character witness for Chmura, even in Wisconsin, where fans bleed Packer green and want Vince Lombardi made a saint. The basic questions remain unanswered, what was Chmura doing at a friend’s house during an after-high school prom party? Why was the friend serving alcohol to minors? What did Chmura do with that young girl?

And we wonder why professional sports programs are out of control.

What the Vikings players did was NOT acceptable behavior. They were using dildos on naked prostitutes, in public, in front of young female employees who were very offended and frightened.

We should certainly expect more from grown men.

This has nothing to do with sexuality, yours or mine. It has to do with decency and obeying the laws.

Whether or not a few men on this thread wish they were there to watch is beside the point.

Exposing young women to this kind of filth and frightening them with out of control sexual behavior is wrong.

At least it is in the state of Minnesota. Fortunately.

61. Have to agree
What they did was arrogant and selfish. To do this in front of others, especially the dildo adventure, when they were not expecting this is wrong. If they wanted to party like this consentually with others, do so behind closed doors not on a deck of a boat.
