Is Your Life Working?
This hasn't been one of my banner years, but I'm rolling with it. Next year should be an improvement because I'll have more money. I really hope the Democrats do better in 2004.

I've had some good years that I would live over again. The bad years make me sympathetic to people who are stuck in a rut and can't get out of it. I remember what it feels like to have your foot in a bear trap.

The Crosby Stills & Nash song "Our House" is very appealing. I like the image of two cats in the yard.

2. Nope.
And it probably won't work until there is no such thing as homophobia left in this world of ours.

4. Homophobia
A lot of homophobia will disappear when the Democrats come back into power. I don't think "family values" is really about families; it's about rejecting whatever doesn't fit that model. Democrats are a lot more tolerant than Republicans, so much so that I wonder why gay conservatives vote for people who hate them.

3. Yeah, my life's working
It's not too great, but you have to work a while to make things better. Patience.

6. Patience
Yes, I've learned a lot more patience ... that's one reason I continue to field my position. If the ball gets hit my way, I'm there to catch it!

I'm also a lot less ambitious. There's no point in making myself crazy. It's a good thing I'm not young.

8. Daily Update
Some crises are more difficult than others. If you put a dog on a tether, the dog will bark. The problem isn't the dog, it's the tether.

7. Some complaints, some joy, some sorrow, some love
Just like most years, it all comes in different ratios. I'm in good health, and I've been able to keep this job for almost a year.

I'm not cold, I'm just not hot.

9. I've had better
Actually, it's been a very tough year, but I'm grateful that I have a good job, friends, and supportive family. Without that, I'd be fucked. So, I've kept on truckin'...

11. In progress...
I've had some pretty good years. I've had some really bad years.
The last two years have been pretty rocky. Money has been extra tight because my husband is in school and we are living on one income. We've been in Dallas for the last two years and we HATE Dallas. The bright side of the last two years are that my son big, healthy, strong and smart. We moved to Dallas when he was a month old.

I have high hopes for the next couple of years in my personal and professional life. As soon as my husband finished school, we are hoping to move to the Bay area of San Francisco so he can start his career as an animator. We hope to pitch and sell the cartoon we've been working on. If we sell the cartoon, I will have my foot in the door for doing voice over work.

Hopes for the world and the country we live in are not nearly as high. Even if we win the WH back, it is going to be a long hard road to pull things back to even half as good as they were before * took office.

13. Bay Area Is Expensive
I'd love to go back to the Bay Area but I'm told it's gotten fiercely expensive. Places in Oakland that used to be cheap have gotten competitive, driving prices up.

I don't think Bush is really all that popular. Some months ago some DU person said he was driving it like he'd stolen it ... recklessly. What's with this "jobless recovery" bullshit? Everybody's complaining because they don't have any money. Bush can't maintain his numbers until he starts to deliver the goods.

12. Not really. But I'm in a transition period.
My job pays well, and isn't at all demanding........but I don't really enjoy it all that much.

I'm planning for the future and consider this time of my life as one of the many transitional periods that I have to go through every now and again in order to re-invent myself.

But, nothings really working right now. I'm kind of in Stand-by mode.

14. Stand-By Mode
How many people have to be in stand-by mode before it gets political definition? We're all Waiting for Godot expecting relief from something currently unknown. I see the ignoramuses who support Bush as the root of the problem. When is he going to do something positive? And when are they finally going to bail out on him?
