1. Giant monkeys are always a good idea in any movie.
Really, it was the only thing missing from Casablanca.

2. I KNEW there was something missing.
Think of how much BETTER that movie would have been if Rick had asked Sam to play "that song," and the song sent the giant ape into a fit of rage, and he trashed the nightclub.

Looks like I'll have to wait for the NEXT re-make.

6. Haven't seen it yet...it's coming out on DVD in the next couple of weeks.
I'm thinkin' the box cover is the best part, based on past experience with this kind of thing.

7. Well, they're MONKEYS, but they weren't GIANT...
...but they were FLYING monkeys, so what they lack in height they make up for in altitude. Sure, go ahead. Why not.

11. Wookies would qualify, sure...
I imagine the Wookie prototype was probably something like "Large Space Monkey" and the George Lucas people said "George, that's not gonna work, the audience is gonna say 'What is a Large Space Monkey' called in their native Klingon or Romulan or whatever," so after a few weeks of arguing about it Lucas caved in and said "You mean if I call him a 'Wookie' or something it'll sell more copies of the DVD?" and they said "YES" and he DID.

Which was pretty damned prophetic of Lucas since DVDs hadn't even been invented yet. No wonder they call the daffy bastard a "visionary."
