Congratulations to the Steelers
I'm a die-hard Bronco fan, but I can hold out hope no longer.

Congrats to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the first 6 seed to win a conference championship. They've had a great run in the playoffs and will be tough to beat in Detroit :toast:

2. Plummer reverts to his old form
Fuck. Hand it to Pittsburgh's defense, though (which is what the Broncos did all game). They did the job, Denver didn't. The secondary was exposed, and the blitz was ineffective.

No question, next year, the Broncos need a pass rushing end, a wide receiver, and a good safety. Ferguson isn't cutting it, and the Browns are only good at stopping the run. A rush end takes the pressure off the linebackers and allows them to play more coverage. Lelie's a good receiver, but not a true #1, and they need someone to take the load off Smith and open up the pass game a little more.

4. the defense was HORRIBLE today
All credit to the Steelers, but the denver defense wasn't getting it done. Pittsburgh scored on every single possession in the first half :grr:

I agree with you about next year. I think they'll be competitive again next year, but they've got some pretty serious tweaking to do. Receivers and DBs will definitely be a priority, I think.

3. Congrats, Steelers
I'm not a fan, but you earned it! Happy celebrating, DU Pittsburgh fans. Hope the Super Bowl is a good game. :toast:

Maybe Philly will get its turn with the Flyers.

I like their chances with Big Ben better than Neil O'Donnell, and I hope that they fare better than last time (feckin' cowboys)

He's this maniac on the field but a gentle soul off.

Love Bettis and Big Ben too.

So proud of my Steelers.

13. GO STILLERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've tried to shut the hell up as much as I could for the last few weeks (I barely even rubbed it in to all the Giant's fans at work) but I can't shut up tonight. GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS! GO STILLERS!

OK I'm done. Not another word for the next 2 weeks from me. It's worked so far this year - hopefully it will work for 1 more game.

BTW, I'm quite impressed that as a Bronco fan you can say that. I sure as hell would be far more immature than anyone here could probably deal with if the Steelers lost.

19. i think jake must have misunderstood those instructions

he played so inspired in that fourth quarter, but there were some pretty bad moments earlier. Also, a couple of dropped balls from his receivers. Oh well, next year :)

37. The sixth seed thing is BS. Bottom line, PGH had a weak middle of
the season (sort of like the Pats) and then came on like gangbusters at the end, and have been pretty much playing the best football of anyone. Even though it seems weird, they should be the favorites.

But Seattle is very good too and certainly has a good shot.

Both teams have great QB play, great running. Defense edge to PGH I think.
