Ladies: What shade of toenail polish do you wear?

My favorite "splurge" is a pedicure. (DH loves it because I come home from the nail salon in a much better mood than I was in before I went!) I hate wearing polish on my fingernails, but my toenails are always decked out in my absolute favorite: Fire engine red! O.P.I. is constantly changing shade names on me, but some of my favorites are "Red Rock N Roll" and "Big Apple Red".

What do you wear on your toenails? The Lounge MUST know!

I wore blue for awhile last year. I think that was my only involvement with toenail polish in the last 15 years or so.

Electric blue, sea foam green, bumble bee yellow. You get the idea. :7

6. depends on the season, really -

fall and winter, darker pinks and berries. Spring and summer, corals, lighter pinks...

Toes are always painted. Unless my feet are tan, which is exceedingly rare, they're colorful. I'm so pale I'm almost blue, so I like a little zing of color wherever I can get it.

I also usually have a very light color on my nails - Revlon now has a two-set that I really like - a super-sheer pink (almost nude) with a top coat that helps the color stay for 7-10 days (and NOTHING ELSE I've ever tried stays that long, not even professional manicures). I use my hands a lot - seven cats, live in a rural area, etc., and this polish stays on no matter what. Never chips, the only time I re-do it is when my nails have grown enough for it to bother me (don't like the un-painted look at the back of my nails).

I'm a redhead with pale, pale skin, blue-green-gray eyes and freckles..I know what you mean about the "zing of color". I had to buy a really pale OPI shade, though, because I loved the name: Hopelessly in Love.

always wear mauve on the hands (hard to find a good one - both OPI and ESSI discontinued gorgeous mauves they had -- I ended up buying old ones on ebay).

I'm a guy. I never wear fingernaii polish. Although I've considered it.. I do paint my toenails -black, blue or chrome. Manly colours.

A pedicure is a great thang... and any one who hasn't had one should., It's increbibly relaxiing.

I had a pedicure as a "treat" at the very end of being pregnant, and I really didn't care for it at all. The lady barely spoke my language (you'd think between English, Italian and a bit of Mandarin, I'd be covered...), I didn't like how I had to sit completely still, and the sight of this older woman bent over my feet, washing them etc, made me way uncomfortable. Did I just go the wrong place?

Also feet are highly erogenous zones -good pedicurists, like good massage therapists are aware of that.

I would have felt badly, too, and tipped BIG.

I'm a pedicure junkie, ;-) so I have had them several different places. The place in our hometown has several employees who speak Vietnamese and just a little English, so it's lots of smiling and nodding. They're really nice, though, and it's clean. The place I go if I get a gift certificate as a present (and maybe once a year,) will blow a hole through anyone's wallet. If you're in Seattle and want to really treat yourself, this is the place.
