even having, hubby just picked one up for a little business model he launched the other day as it includes his being out of town 3-4 days every couple weeks entering forms, data, excel etc, (he says i can use/play with it for my stuff after i "go through orientation" (i just love him)), he is so done with doing tech work for those previous assholes; the short answer? Big Changes!! but all forward motion, so that we are fine & dandy by design, he is still working 'on project' and i'll soon be asking for confirm...meet our new office manager...

The hard drive just failed. Sometimes they just do that. And hopefully they do it while it is still under waranty (which is was in this case). I don't think this means Acer is a bad brand. Sometimes hard drives are just duds.

the two absolute _ best_ gifts I ever received in my life were:

1) When I was seven years old, shortly after I was adopted, my mom and dad gave me the most beautiful blue (with metal flake) Schwinn bike, with white and silver banana seat. My sister got exactly the same bike at the same time, but hers had training wheels: nyah-nyah-nyah. :P

2) For my 36th birthday, when Call Me Wesley was my "boyfriend," he gave me a leather journal in which he'd written daily by hand his thoughts, poetry. Between the pages he'd pressed flowers and enclosed feathers, postcards with our favorite pieces of art. It still is the most exquisite and personal gift I've ever received. :)

(But between the boots and the laptop, I'd have a hard time choosing.)
