1. I like The Boondocks, or did before McGruder stopped
doing his own art ...

4. That's the problem. When he moved to t.v., he stopped
doing all the art in the strip, and has someone else doing some or all of it. The first time I saw Riley as drawn by the other artist, I did not know who it was...

It always annoys me when artists get too "big" to do their own strips anymore ...

6. Phil Foglio is one of my all time favorite cartoonists.

Buck Godot, Zap gun for hire is dark humor that is hysterical. Girl Genius is a Gas-lamp Fantasy World, and is VERY good.

Barry Ween, Boy genius is great by book four, but takes time to get good. The fourth book is pure art/story.

The ORIGINAL Elfquest was the best, till that dumb f*** Richard got greedy, and the artist (His wife Wendy) STOPPED DOING HER OWN ART (notice a theme here?)

http://www.elfquest.com/

Bone, by Jeff Smith had THE SINGLE FUNNIEST THING I have EVER seen in ANY medium.... and as a bonus, it is done, so you can read the whole thing...

http://www.boneville.com/

Mage, by Matt Wagner, is VERY good; but who knows if we will ever see the end of the series.... First series in the early eighties, second in the mid nineties, third and last ???????? BTW, Grendel is only ok....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Wagner

Sandman, by Neil Gaiman, is intense. WARNING! VERY DARK, reasonably GRAPHIC, sorta scary...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sandman_%28DC_Comics_Modern_Age%29

Dork Tower is a must-have for any TRUE gaming/comic nerd. Completely outrageous!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dork_Tower

Journey was a very good frontier/sci-fi/fantasy series...

http://www.comics.org/series.lasso?SeriesID=2775

Dark Knight, by Frank Miller, was EXTREMELY well done. Year one was ok, and DK2 was sorta disappointing...

http://www.dccomics.com/features/dk2/dk2.html

User Friendly is great for computer geeks aaannnnddd .... I think the dust puppy is Elad's avatar....

http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/friendly/

Robert Asprin's Myth series was made into a comic, and the art was by ... Phil Foglio! Can't find a link to the comic, but I can tell you that it was fantastic since Foglio did it ...

And for you dog lovers .... Dogs in Space!

There are others, but frankly I can't think of them right now, and they are all in boxes from my last move, and I gotta go home, they are kicking me out... TTFN ....

Edit: And I concur on the Foglio thing. I'm not a big fan of his earlier work, but Girl Genius is excellent.

Jeez! I remember when he used to write cartoons for Dragon Magazine in the early 80's.

He also did some artwork for the Magic card game in the late 90s.
