Saturday art: "Eight Wishes"

This is a large commissioned piece for a client I know very well, and the painting reflects my personal wishes for him and his family. Enjoy, ya'll. :hi:

18. I'm glad that soothing vibe translates well.

That was the whole idea of this commission. The client wanted something calm and peaceful that used the natural energy in his family relationship to enhance the master bedroom. I did the best I could. And it really helped that I knew the family well: their birthdates, numerology and had done their tarot cards as part of the process.

16. I'll have to look back at the

letters the client and I exchanged. Some of them were luck, wisdom, music, art, blessings, innocence . . . I can't remember the rest. The Minnie Mouse was added at the last minute as a "prop" to the client's five-year-old daughter, who loves Minnie Mouse and all things pink.

This client already owns six or seven of my paintings. If I can find the photo in my files, I'd post one of his "Heidi" walls in his home. In a way, it's an honor. In another, it's sort of creepy or surreal to see so many big paintings that I've made, all hanging in one place. :blush:

15. Did you write all the musical stuff? Or is it a bit of a collage?

I can only think that drawing all the staff lines must have been a pain in the ass.

And is the music copied from a piece already composed, or is it your own invention?

17. It's copied from a sonata for harp and guitar.

Thank you, Rabrrrrrr. It did take a very long time to measure and draw the staff lines, but I did that part first and "fixed" it because it was the most tedious part of the work.

Since it is a bit large....I wonder, could you get a photograph of it once your client has it hanging? That would help a lot in visualizing it.

Call me old fashioned, but I'm not for reading books online. I read fast, so scrolling down extensively and clicking from page to page over and over again is just not for me. I'm not even fond of really long posts on message boards for that reason. I'm much better off with a regular paper book. I'll be one of the big losers if they decide to digitize all of the libraries.

Hey, I've got a little problem and CMW is asleep. It seems that my new laptop has mysteriously become password protected after I shut it off last night. I tried my regular password that I use for everything else, but it won't let me log in. Any ideas???? :cry:

You could try logging in as an administrator. If that fails, you can try to boot into safe mode: to do that you hold F8 while it is starting up. Once into safe mode you may be able to change the password (look in "User Accounts" in the control panel).

That Minni Mouse - and where and how you positioned it - gives it the ultimate twist. Also abolutely great is the idea of putting a picture of the picture in there!

By looking at the picture one gets the feeling that the family must be very nice :) Was the "Little Prince" your idea or theirs?
