Watching her making a romantic lunch right now - food actually looks pretty good. Theres a lot of people knocking her on her recipes on foodtv.com. Cute shirt she has on today.

more than anything having to do with her short-cut cooking.

7. Her recipes are pretty fast, though.
C'mon, the title of her show is "30 Minute Meals" or something.

Anyway, I don't know why, but she annoys me. The only Food Network shows I really watch anymore are Alton Brown (Good Eats) and Iron Chef America.

14. Alton is probably the real reason I watch Iron Chef America. ;)
I don't think I've ever tried his recipes, nor do I know if I ever will, but I love the "McGuyver" aspect, the science-of-cooking stuff, and of course all the cheesy pop-culture references.

21. The title of her show is "Semi-Homemade"
30 Minute Meals is another Rachael Ray show.

Apparently, the intent of Sandra's program is to show you how to spruce up convenience food so it looks like you slaved over a hot stove for hours cooking it.

Go to foodtv.com and find Sandra's "BBQ Chicken Pizza." It's a fairly basic recipe--nice interaction in the cheeses, which is good--but she starts by cutting up and sauteing chicken tenders. Chicken tenders, which are breaded hunks of chicken meat, have their place--but it's not in a recipe. The pizza would have been a little less expensive, tasted better and been just as quick and easy to make if she would have started with boneless chicken breasts...or a LOT less expensive if she would have started with something you had to bone out, like thighs.

23. Yes, that's exactly it

I can appreciate the intent of the show. It's hard to be a great hostess when you work and have small kids. Older ones are different, they can help out.

24. I don't have time to cook from scratch as often as I'd like, either.
I'll spruce up a box of Kraft mac & cheese with worchestershire sauce and Tabasco. Delish. But I don't have a TV show about it. ;)

25. Problem is, her stuff doesn't take any less time -- it seems to be boxes
for the sake of being from boxes.

She'll buy a $20 cheesecake and gut it and mix the guts with cream and pipe them into sugar-cookie shells she mixed and baked, and do the same thing with a $8 pumpkin pie.

It's faster and cheaper (and likely better) to buy pre-baked tartlet shells, a can of pumpkin filling, a box of cheesecake mixm and go from there.

"Ok you need a fifth of rum, a 5th of vodka, a fifth brandy and a little limeade concentrate and mix them all together, your guests will love it!!" Her guests must leave her house shitfaced.

15. My mother loves Paula.
My mom is Japanese and even after all these years, her understanding of English is pretty poor, so she can't understand a single word coming out of Paula's mouth (on account of the thick accent Paula has), but mom just loves Paula's personality. She just sits there giggling "Her accent so cute!"
