Poll question: Black Sabbath...Love 'em or Hate 'em?!
.....OH YEAH BABY!

Alright now!!
Won’t you listen?

When I first met you, didn’t realize
I can’t forget you, for your suprize
You introduced me, to my mind
And left me wanting, you and your kind

I love you, oh you know it

My life was empty forever on a down
Until you took me, showed me around
My life is free now, my life is clear
I love you sweet leaf, though you can’t hear

Come on now, try it out

Straight people don’t know, what your about
They put you down and shut you out
You gave to me a new belief
And soon the world will love you sweet leaf

1. Definitely a groundbreaking band, but they are
a distatn second to my favorite heavy metal band out of Birmingham England. And no, my faves ain't Zeppelin either. I hafta throw monster props towards LZ, but they just aren't my favorite from the midlands.

(PS I don't know if DUers consider Led Zeppeling Heavy Metal or not, they had definite metal-moments, I just name so nobody gets confused! :D)

Wow, Birmingham, let's give the Midlands a big shout out! :hi:

2. SAB RULES
especially when you consider Tony Iommi is missing the tips of two of his fingers on his fretting hand.

3. Yup, the second and third, I'd REALLLLLYYYY miss
the tip of my ring finger.

I've always wondered if that was a factor in his faster soloing being rather scattershot. He's bomber on the slower more melodic passges, but when he cranks on the gas it seems to fade a bit. Live Evil is where that really stands out.

Of course he's had about twenty five years of playing between now and then.

Here's a question, how do you feel about the Dio Sabbath years? I can only take Ronnie James in small doses, but I've always though Mob Rules and Heaven and Hell were pretty solid albums.

5. Heaven & Hell was a great album.
Better even than the last two albums recorded with Ozzy. I think Dio really moved them in the right direction until his ego took over.

4. Black Sabbath ROCKS
I like the earliest albums. The first one was good, but a little overrated by the crowd I hung around with. I liked Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Vol. 4, and Sabotage most of all. Masters of Reality was another good one. By Technical Ecstasy, they were going downhill.

6. Tony Iommi is a great guitarist
but I can't stand Ozzy's whiny voice.

8. Been to 2 Sabbath headlined Ozzfests! I'm a HUGE fan.
Maybe not so much from the post Ozzy albums (I HATE Ronnie James Dio), but the Ozzy albums kicked major amounts of ass.
