Help, I need free computer advice.
I am out of hard disc space on my old laptop. Its only 20 gig. I got a 30 gig Ipod for xmas and can't fill it up.

So, the big question, I can get a replacement dell internal harddrive and an installation kit for $140, but that only gets me to 40 gig. Or I can get an external USB of around 100 gig for $99. I don't mind dealing with the external, from a physical standpoint, but I am not sure about how to move stuff over to it and all that.

Which is the better solution?

1. Get the external one.
If you're running Windows XP (which I assume since you have a Dell), just plug the thing in and it'll show up as harddrive in your workplace. Then just move the files around.

But this is a much better deal compared to the Dell one.

2. Call Me Wesley is absolutely correct...
...plus, the external harddrive will allow you, with the use of a program like Ghost or Drive Image, to make a backup of your harddrive in the event of a crash--which is what I do. Highly recommended.

3. External
but you can get a better deal than the one you cited. I got a 250 gig external for $129.
