Anyone drive a PT Cruiser?
My car is in the shop and the dealership has rented a car for me to use...and Enterprise gave me a PT Cruiser. (Oh, it's a good car...I like the way it handles and rides, extremely comfortable.)

But it's winter in Chicago...how the heck does one operate the back windshield washer? I cleaned the front window, but the back one is a mess!

Thanks to anyone who can help...or not.

1. No owner's manual in the car?
Probably however you operate the back windshield wiper, pushing in/against or pulling forward/pushing back of the "stem" control (if that's where it is) probably will do it.

2. No and I've never had a car with a back wiper before....
although I think they are an excellent idea.

I was able to figure out the radio.

Thanks.

4. Here you go:
From a PT Cruiser forum:
The controls are mostly logical and easy to understand. Headlights are controlled from a stalk, with a flash-to-pass feature. The rear wiper and washer are handled from a switch in the center console, along with the rear defroster and heated mirrors (which are on the same switch). All the vent controls, except for the air conditioning compressor, make sense and are easy to move. The vent control is continuous, which means you can go between the middle vents and bi-level mode if you like.

7. Thanks....
Rental cars can be difficult for the tech-challenged to operate stuff.

I once rented a car in Boston and then spent a week on Cape Cod with no radio because I couldn't figure out how to use it. Nothing I tried worked. Thought I'd stop at a Hyundai dealership and ask someone to show me...except I never saw a Hyundai dealership.

10. Yes, below the radio/cd player
It's a black switch that you push on and off. It has a pictogram of a windshield wiper on it.

12. Thanks, cally.
Now that I know where to look, I can clean the window. I love the idea of a rear windshield washer.

3. Funny
I drove a rented PT Cruiser in Chicago during the winter for two weeks in 2004.
I don't remember about the back windshield wiper. Sorry.

8. Oh, come on! It's been positively balmy!
BTW, do I need to apologize for my sock puppet fiasco?

9. Welcome back....
what sock puppet fiasco?

The back window of the car is damn dirty. The gods only know when this car was last washed. Even my car (which is black) is cleaner.

How is the baby?

11. She's big!
First things first: Ana, at 5 months, is 18 pounds, and 27 inches long. Bright red hair, cobalt eyes. She is going to scare the hell out of guys. She's healthy as a horse, and loves to pretend she's an airplane (I think so, at least).

And the sock puppet fiasco was just a bit of trouble I got into last weekend when I was here for ten minutes. Leave it to me to get in trouble in ten minutes!
