Fashion superstar Tom Ford also appears on the cover photo, though he stuck with a more traditional suit — one of black fabric.

Ford, the issue's guest art director, said he hadn't planned on becoming part of his own project, but he stepped in when "Wedding Crashers" star Rachel McAdams, 29, backed out.

Exactly why it is a great photo

Annie Leibovitz is so good at thought provoking celeb photos. Tom Ford was a last minute fill in for Rachel McAdams who got cold feet about doing the naked photo thing. But I think Leibovitz' idea to keep him clothed was incredible.

Personally, nudity doesn't bother me, but I can see why others would think this is rather silly.
