7. I Want to Take You Higher
Edited on Wed Feb-08-06 10:18 PM by Patsy Stone
Is on my "Top Five Best Songs Ever" list. There is no way you can sit still unless you're dead.

Yes, he is a genius.

10. The performance of that song at Woodstock
made me a rock/R&B fan when I was a kid (I saw the movie, of course). I still get hairs on my arm at full attention when I see it. God, what a band.

4. My friend
We're lucky he showed up at all. There was a controversy as to whether or not he'd appear.

Like a rare bird. Consider yourself blessed. :)

8. true
and, don't get me wrong...he did not disappoint. A wilder getup, I haven't seen

I just thought it was hilarious that he just up and left before "I Want To Take You Higher" was even close to wrapping up. The musicians seemed a little bewildered too

BTW, anyone notice Randy Jackson from "American Idol" playing bass with Nile Rodgers in the band? Christ, they couldn't get Larry Graham to appear with Sly?

15. Well
Journey hasn't had many gigs recently, so he needed some playing time. :)

16. LOL
that's the biggest joke of all time, although it makes sense when I think about it.

Hard to believe Journey was born out of the Santana Band.

14. That's vintage Sly! :)
He looked GREAT; just as cool as he was in the 1960s and 70s. He put the "youngbloods" to shame! Wish he'd stated just a LITTLE bit longer, though.

I've definitely become a fan of Joss Stone and John Legend, too!

9. I think they were more surprised he was there at all

"Rather, everyone is wondering whether reclusive funk music pioneer Sly Stone will make his first major public appearance in almost 13 years at the event."
