It took me a while, innocent as I was.

1. When I was 5 I stood on my head in church.
I'm thinking that was a statement of sorts.

3. I haven't decided that yet and I probably never will.
however, I have said that about some of my kids' behaviour....followed by a time-out, of course.

6. Uh, been here 52 years....
Haven't come to that conclusion yet, although the 150 mg/day of Effexor may have something to do with it. Funny, I started taking it in 2001, coincidence?

10. Mid-teens
when it occurred to me that if we reach the peak of our mental and physical abilities o/a mid twenties and we'll live (barring disasters) for at least forty more years after that, well that's major suckage and we're screwed.

11. 6 years
When I was in 1st grade and began my hellish existence known as "the school years". 12 years of being tortured physically, verbally and psychologically by my peers for no good reason.

15. When I Was 5 - My Kindergarten Teacher Tried To Tell Me I Had To Choose
She asked everyone what they wanted to be when theyy grew up. I said an astronaut. She told me I had to choose between a mom, a teacher or a nurse. I was still mad when I got home so I called my grandma right away and told her what happened. She told me to go back to school and tell her that grandma said I can be whatever I want to be. So the next day I marched right in and put my hands on my hips and let her know what grandma said. She cracked up.
Amazing isn't it - people trying to supress others dreams - eeeeeeeeek - It was all over then I knew we were supposed to stay in our place.

16. To which bullshit do you refer?
Edited on Thu Feb-09-06 10:43 AM by Benfea
If you mean religion, then there never was a time when I bought into it. The closest I ever got to religion was a sort of agnostic-deism when I was a gullible child. Of course, at that wild and crazy time of my life, I considered the possibility of the deist version of god existing. At no time in my life did I ever take seriously Christianity. What kind of gullible person believes in talking snakes, for crying out loud?

I remember finding the whole thing very, very silly from my earliest memories of it.
