it's getting crazy. There are three threads about Bush opening death camps. I just can't get with that. That just does something to my brain. I think I'm really in the wrong place, guys! I feel like I have jumped into some kind of role-playing game and it isn't healthy for me.

Now, please don't tell me not to let the door hit me on the way out. My ass is so big I can't help it.

Hitler was very bad. And Bush & his ilk use propaganda techniques and tribilization that was apparent in early Hitler. But no need to extend the horror beyond what it already is.

I do try to keep in mind that everyone's journey is different.

I just ask - if we cannot get together and respect each other here - how are we going to do during the election in Fall 2006?

Some of the comparisons and discussion of fascism is apt. I just think we should all agree to draw the line at what is known.

There is enough horrible stuff out there that is well documented.

When it comes to politics, you've got zealot righties and zealot lefties, and they're almost always the loudest group. The vast majority of people fall somewhere in between. Similarly, the vast majority of DU is not a bunch of zealots, but the zealots are always going to be the loudest because it's pretty much the only thing they care about in life.

I can definitely understand your frustration, as I've toyed with leaving myself, but I keep reminding myself that I shouldn't go away just because of a handful of morons.

I will return after a bit, probably to the Lounge. I am one of those folks who could never play D and D because I got WAY too into it. Same thing is happening here. Just need to clear my head for a bit.

And you never know how the other side might post some of these things to disrupt. That sure is possible.
