I am in love with an outfit.
I can't buy it, but I may have to try to sew it, because I want it SO BADLY!

34. I bet you could do it as separates
In a heavy clingy knit that wouldn't need to be lined. I've never tried to make elastic waist pants, but maybe a side zipper?

22. That's an average. It depends on the item.
Socks= 2% of "the fun,"
Crotchless pantyhose= something more like 90% of "the fun."

28. Fun: it MUST be quantified and categorized!
I must ascertain the minutest amount of enjoyment yielded by various activities, so as to determine whether they warrant my engagement.

14. I had my sewing machine out yesterday.
It was mostly for repair work- I haven't sewn anything new in a while, but I really should make something, if for nothing else than to stay practiced!

15. I remember that really cute coat you made. I'm sure you can do this.

I used to love to sew.

One of my jobs (way back when) was teaching sewing. It was very rewarding for me to help someone accomplish their goal.

Don't take this the wrong way, but my Jem doll had a similar outfit in royal blue. (She rocked it.)

It would look great on you. Get stitchin' :D

Most of the Jem dolls had some nifty outfits. The cartoon doesn't do them justice. They were all about the knee high tights and/or boots.

Cartoon doppleganger for sure!

26. Here's a link to tons of patterns, and maybe you could combine/adapt these
Edited on Fri Feb-10-06 01:36 PM by Whoa_Nelly
Am thinking if you make it a two-piece, the banding could be added also to the top (add at bottom of the top piece), and could be the "belt" look

30. You sweetheart! Thanks!
I could definitely work with that. After further consideration, I've determined that I'd probably have to make my own anyway, to get it to be adequate length. I smell a spring break project....

Edited on Fri Feb-10-06 04:09 PM by Whoa_Nelly
I sew, and it does seem to me that it would be an easy jump from using those patterns and creating the outfit you want!

Now...wouldn't it be cool to turn it into a long slit skirt with a wide sequin band around the tube top? :woohoo:

The possibilities are almost endless!
