My 'friend' said he'd call to arrange a time for dinner tonight.
At what point do I stop waiting and go out to have my own life?

(he said about 5PM.)

2.  Give him an hour then do whatever you want for the evening without him.

3. I usually give it about 30-45 minutes before I hang myself.

4. Stop waiting
Go out and enjoy the night.

Maybe something came up. Anyway, it's not the end of the world.

5. Give him one hour.
That's a reasonable time in case he has been held up for some reason. If he doesn't call or show up, it would be a long time before I would make plans with him again (if ever). How can we respect people we can't depend on?
