Question about ABC and the war in Iraq...

On tonight's broadcast, during the report about sniper attacks on American military, the reporter referred to the number of such attacks/deaths since "the American invasion."

Is that standard for ABC or any new outlet? I don't remember anyone else using the word "invasion." Maybe I just haven't been paying attention.

1. I remember Ted Koppel saying invasion the day it all started.

I remember him saying something like, "Make no mistake, this is an invasion."

2. Maybe it's an ABC thing.

It's good, though - call it what it is.

4. I'd go further and call it an invasion and occupation.

But ABC is the only U.S. news organization to use invasion regularly that I know of.
